Why are people blaming the driver for the condition of the tires? Is it really his job to determine if tires are roadworthy? We don't get tested on tires when applying for a driver's license. The blame should be on Traffic Police. How did a vehicle with tires like that even get past their checkpoints?

Yup. He wasn’t good at all but that’s what happens when you take a player who just comes off the back of an injury and then you force that same player into games after picking another injury up during the tournament.

This is radical because it looks like Csicedo slander which it isnt but this is talking about the root cause of the initial squad building. But ive also said this. Enzo-Caicedo is not balanced defensively in the Prem and part of bad squad building was thinking they would work. If they planned with Lavia as part of that midfield 3, then why did they get a 10 in Palmer. Inconsistent squad building. They didnt look like they planned it well.

The jorg- kante and mac - caicedo was an example that these people wanted to create at Chelsea. But Enzo had to grow more as more coaches deemed him not worthy of that role. Unlike today

@IsolatedPlay_ Enzo in the 2022 WC and his first months at Chelsea showed his profile perfectly. Signing Caicedo was big mistake when you already have a young Jorginho profile you bought for 100m.

Honestly i’m working thru Enzo’s game and I think I UNDERRATED his ability. He just suffered playing the Ndidi role under Maresca which comprised of the opposite functions he excels at in-possession. This is Toni Kroos on steroids. Honestly we owe it to maximize him, if that means binning Caicedo then so be it. RCM in a midfield 3, get a shuttling/ball-carrying DM and a LCM that excels receiving BTL’s, doesn’t have to have much final ball cause Enzo already brings that.

As far as double pivots go under Xabi Alonso, Enzo-Lavia actually MOGS any other combination. It is literal perfection so far as in-possession is concerned - the most press resistant midfielder itw (Lavia) with the 2nd best passing midfielder itw (Enzo). But it hinges on whether we are good enough for that yet. Would take balls, but if we dominated to such an extent in possession it wouldn’t matter much how good that midfield would be OOP because it would rarely occur.

There is no doubt Enzo is clutch (certainly for Argentina, doesn’t do it enough for Chelsea in my eyes) and there is no doubting he is good, sometimes great. My issues haven’t been with that. My issue is the player clearly wanting to leave and the player clearly works better in a 3 man midfield. I have always felt that he doesn’t work in a pivot. Me saying that doesn’t mean I don’t rate him. I just don’t rate him in that system. There is a difference. If he decides to stay (which from what I have heard still isn’t the case) and Alonso is able to find a way to use him where we aren’t run through continuously in transition, then happy days. I spoke about this before, if you build a team around him, there is going to have to be sacrifices. Maresca had to invert a full back, or you have to take out a conventional 10 and only play 3 up top. He was brilliant last night. But a WC game is very different to a Prem game. Different styles, different tempos etc. As a Chelsea fan, I only want what’s best for the team. If that means Enzo stays and stops these flirting games with leaving, then so be it. Let’s see what happens.
