Kanpur people have believed the narrative that two nearby cities should not have two International airports. So they don't even demand for a better air connectivity and have accepted their fate. Both Noida & Greater Noida are just 60 km away from IGI Airport. Yet, UP Govt decided to build an airport there instead of Kanpur. They expect Kanpur to perform better without a better air connectivity. For UP, building international airports in cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Kushinagar is more important than building a greenfield airport in Kanpur. Surprisingly, these cities don't even make it to the Top 10 exporting cities of UP. And then they wonder why UP fails to control the migration. Uttar Pradesh has got its priorities wrong. You can't run this huge state solely depending upon religious tourism. Every political party, be it Congress or BJP blame communists but they won't talk about why both of them didn't do a thing for Kanpur knowing that Kanpur is a stronghold for both the parties. Even now, it's either Noida or Lucknow/Varanasi. The myopic UP Govt didn't even care to include Kanpur in the UP Capital Region which originally included not just Kanpur Nagar but also Kanpur Dehat. Migration from eastern UP and other parts is not going to stop even after 10 years with everything from IT to manufacturing being concentrated in Noida. UP is not going anywhere by neglecting Kanpur! A greenfield airport should be built in Kanpur on the outer ring road without any delay. No area has progressed without proper air connectivity. @myogiadityanath @myogioffice @RamMNK @irameshawasthi
