Florida remains committed to longstanding constitutional protections for voluntary prayer and religious expression in our public schools. I applaud the Trump administration’s updated guidance that reaffirms those protections for all students, teachers and school personnel. I sent a letter to parents outlining the updated guidance and explaining @EducationFL’s process to safeguard the freedom of religious expression in all of Florida’s public schools.

Having guardians in schools is one of the most effective ways to ensure highly trained personnel are in place to respond to an active assailant. HB 757 extends the guardian program to postsecondary institutions, ensuring students have access to safe and secure learning environments. Thank you @michellesalzman and Senator Don Gaetz for leading this important effort to strengthen school safety at Florida’s colleges and universities.

School unions in Florida aren’t acting in the best interests of teachers, students, or taxpaying citizens — only the political activists at the top. Despite their efforts, Florida has become a model for education and parents’ rights. Now, Florida lawmakers have the opportunity to preserve and build on these achievements by passing legislation to hold school unions accountable. I appreciate the Trump Administration’s support for this transformative bill and look forward to @GovRonDeSantis signing it into law.

From withholding teacher pay to wasting members’ dues on frivolous lawsuits, teacher unions have repeatedly placed ideological priorities ahead of the educators they are meant to serve. Legislation sponsored by @jenna_persons and @JonMartinEsq will ensure teachers receive the pay raises they have earned without delay and require unions to demonstrate majority support among the teachers they purport to represent.

I had the honor of recognizing Nancy Sauls as @EducationFL’s February “Going the Extra Mile” Employee of the Month. Nancy serves as an Operations Management Consultant within our Division of Finance and Operations. She exemplifies the dedication and initiative that keep our Department’s operations running seamlessly each day.
