Game-based learning is reshaping classrooms across India—bringing quizzes, simulations, and play into everyday teaching, with IIT Madras contributing through academic insights and thought leadership. As reported by The New Indian Express, initiatives such as Punjab’s Khed Pitara and “Play and Learn” modules in cities are strengthening foundational skills, while platforms like Mindspark and Chimple are expanding impact across classrooms. Mr Kartic Vaidyanathan, guest faculty at IIT Madras and founder of LetsPlayToLearn, highlights that, unlike gamification, true game-based learning builds immersive experiences with clear goals, fostering problem-solving, interaction, and continuous feedback. He also notes its role in creating psychological safety, enabling students to learn without fear of failure and adapt at their own pace. A promising complement to traditional teaching—when used thoughtfully. I’ve started a series in The Hindu (@the_hindu ) called the Examined World, a “contemplative series exploring what the sciences reveal about us”. Here is a link (thehindu.com/sci-tech/scien…) to the first piece l which Is about how ideas can have a long reach and impact, and how impact and application can stimulate such ideas. The title of the piece and the picture in the article is a bit of a ‘click-bait’ into the GMO debate, but that is not the principal thrust—just a very important example. The principal question is really that if ideas and consequential directions can steer biotech in new ways; what is the crucible that can generate such ideas how can their consequences be regulated? Here are excerpts that summarise the thesis. Feedback and critiques much appreciated.

Congratulations @kris_sg . Amazing to see your focus, persistence and patience in supporting brain research in India.
Centre for Brain Research, IISc@CBR_IISc

Congratulations, Shree Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan (@kris_sg ), Co-founder of Infosys, Chairman of Axilor Ventures and Trustee of Pratiksha Trust, on the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2026. “The brain is the most sophisticated creation of nature, and we still haven’t understood it properly. And once I decided to do that, I thought it should have a social angle where we can leverage the understanding to figure out what causes diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dementia etc. These are diseases that don’t have a cure and till we figure out what causes them, we won’t find one,” says Shree Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan. Shree Gopalakrishnan received the award for Grassroots Philanthropist at the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2026, presented to him by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and KVS Manian, MD and CEO, Federal Bank He believes that the “next wave of disruption will come from a better understanding of how the brain works.” In the @ForbesIndia article, @kathakalichanda profiles Shree Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan to understand his vision for investing in brain research. “Kris is passionate about understanding the process of ageing of a healthy brain, what is the mechanism through which diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s etc progress. The key to this is finding out biomarkers that help us identify diseases much before they can be clinically diagnosed. Our eventual goal is to build a national biomarker index for India,” says K.V.S. Hari (@iisckvshari), director, Centre for Brain Research (CBR) IISc. Read more: lnkd.in/gCTSqRxN.

Nice to see the enthusiastic participation of seniors on Delhi region. Looking forward to an active community in Delhi @vayah_vikas
Vayah Vikas@vayah_vikas

A significant step forward for senior citizen empowerment in India. At the “Uniting for Senior Citizens Empowerment” Summit (7 April 2026, India International Centre, New Delhi), @vayah_vikas launched its Delhi-NCR Chapter, marking the start of a more coordinated national movement. Chief Guest Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary General & CEO, NHRC, highlighted the urgent need for stronger support systems rooted in dignity, rights, and inclusion, and called for greater collaboration to ensure healthcare, social security, and legal protection for seniors. The Delhi-NCR Chapter will be led by Shri Amit Yadav, IAS (Retd.), former Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, who emphasized building an inclusive regional network, driving actionable programs, and enabling seniors to actively shape policy and practice. Ms Gauri Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Founding Board Member, Vayah Vikas, reflected on the organization’s 5-year journey—how a group of committed seniors came together with a shared vision to give a voice to the voiceless—and underscored the need to now expand across geographies to truly represent seniors across India. With leadership from Dr @JamunaRavi8 (CEO) and Shankar Ranganathan (Head of Operations), and a panel on “Collaborative Ecosystem for Senior Citizens” moderated by Ms Pavithra Reddy (COO), the summit reinforced one message: collective action is the way forward. This is not just an event. It is the beginning of a unified effort to build a more inclusive and dignified future for India’s seniors. #VayahVikas #SeniorCitizens #ActiveAgeing #ElderCare #SocialImpact @kris_sg

AI for Seniors: Making Artificial Intelligence Simple, Useful, and Empowering A powerful session by @vayah_vikas, in collaboration with AI Kiran, showed that learning has no age limit. @jamunaravi set the tone by emphasizing the need for seniors to actively participate in the AI-driven world. Krishan Narayanan (Itihaasa Research & Digital, Centre for Responsible AI, IIT Madras) simplified the foundations of AI, while Smitha M V, AI trainer, brought it alive with practical, everyday use cases. With Bhagyashrie Masorkar and Prerna Dharni from AI Kiran highlighting inclusive AI, the session saw overwhelming enthusiasm from senior participants eager to learn, adapt, and reinvent themselves. Strong demand for hands-on learning, real-life applications, and beginner-friendly AI courses stood out. Seniors are ready for AI. This is just the beginning. #VayahVikas #AIForSeniors #ActiveAging #AIKiran #DigitalInclusion @kris_sg

thehindu.com/news/national/… The constitution of the Responsible AI Committee by our @INCKarnataka government marks a significant and forward-looking step in shaping the ethical foundations of emerging technologies. As Artificial Intelligence rapidly transforms governance, industry and society, responsible governments must ensure that innovation is guided by strong principles of transparency, fairness, accountability and citizen trust. Karnataka’s initiative to develop a comprehensive Responsible AI framework places ethics at the centre of technological progress. In an era where AI and Quantum Technologies are redefining the frontiers of science and public policy, it is imperative that innovation advances hand-in-hand with people-centric governance. Such initiatives ensure that technological power is harnessed responsibly while safeguarding the rights and interests of citizens. Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble CM Shri @Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble DCM Shri @DKShivakumar, and Hon’ble Minister for ITBT Shri @PriyankKharge, along with the distinguished committee chaired by Shri @kris_sg, we are steering Karnataka towards a future where cutting-edge innovation is guided by ethical foresight and responsible governance. #ResponsibleAI #AIforGood #EthicalAI #FutureOfTechnology #DeepTech #AI #QuantumTechnology #KarnatakaLeads
