PSA get a dashcam for your car. My wife and I were involved in a hit-and-run road rage incident today (we’re both fine) and the police were able to track the guy down because of the @tesla dashcam. The guy in the truck must’ve been very impatient with the traffic and decided to ram our car and push us about 100ft through the intersection before speeding off. I’ve already ordered a dash cam for our other car.

First time back in Saratoga Springs since we moved up to Bountiful last year. How does anybody put up with the traffic here? I would have expected it to get better once the new highway opened, but it hasn’t improved.

Looking for a job? Here is what I would do: 1) Find the local communities for your topic of interest. For software development in Utah, that would be @ForgeUtah, @utjs, @UtahRust, etc 2) Join their online discussion (Discord, Slack, etc) 3) Interact naturally with the people in the group. Eventually, they will accept you as a regular. 4) Find the job listings channel and apply to everything you find. Ask the group if anyone has a contact at the employer. They will provide extra information about how to succeed during the hiring process. Good luck!

Hot take: Building a native Swift iOs app might now be easier than building a website. Before AI, websites won. HTML/CSS/JS was more forgiving than Swift and Xcode. But with Opus 4.5, vibe coding works great for Swift. And here's the thing: when you build a native app, that's it. No backend. No server. No infrastructure. Just a thing that runs on your phone. PWAs? You still need to host them somewhere. A native app just gets pushed to your device and exists. Self-contained. Done. The simplest path to "personal app on my phone" might no longer be the web??
