@JasonGregor @HockeyROI Who said the 8-12 forwards? 24/25 Oilers could had all types of options for a solid PP2 (Arvidsson, Henrique, Skinner to name a few).
25-26 Henrique, Howard Manji obvious guys that could have used some mojo.
How do you plan on giving Howard a chance this year w/o PP time?
English

@Kylebrox @HockeyROI Podkolzin, Roslovic and Savioe all produced very well last year. If you think the 8-12 forwards will get on second unit PP I can’t help you. Also read the article since clearly you didn’t or you’d see COL and other teams had lots of guys produce without playing PP.
English

Oilers first unit PP is the best in NHL history and has been for the past seven seasons.
In 2026 they scored 31 goals in the first min of a PP.
They scored 29 in the final minute.
Reducing TOI on the PP for #97 and #29 would be a very bad idea.

@JasonGregor @HockeyROI Jason, the list of “secondary” players who have underperformed in Edm is loooooong.
Any guesses as to why that might be?
English

@Kylebrox @HockeyROI what if, what if, what if. Also which three forwards are on the second PP unit.. Podz, Savoie and who. Podz and Savoie had 19 and 18 goals last year. Who's confidence is really getting boosted? The bottom five forwards who didn't produce wouldn't be on the 2nd unit PP anyways.
English

@HockeyROI @JasonGregor Exactly. And who’s to say PP1 doesn’t have more urgency knowing they’re off after 1:15 and instead scores more goals in the first minute.
English

@JasonGregor I don't disagree. The counter argument is then we don't get other player opportunity to get their confidence going and then we say why does everyone else not contribute. It's a hard balance to find.
English

@dstaples @BlueBullet1981 Technically yes, but looking at his combined numbers for last two years:
24-25 (36 games)
GAA 3.09
Sv% 0.893
25-26 (33 games)
GAA 3.31
Sv% 0.882
And 23-24 was is third worst year (0.903).
Have to go back pretty far to find a good goalie.
English

@BlueBullet1981 Yes, folks should temper critics of Jarry with the realization that his performance for Oilers was the worst stretch of a decent career
English

@BlueBullet1981 @EdmOilerlytics Understood.
This only comes into play in a LTIR situation since your 23 man roster cannot be over the cap in the regular season.
But if someone is hurt, damn straight I bring someone in. If then Freddie goes down, I sit my acquisition to make sure I have 2 playable goalies.
English

@EdmOilerlytics @Kylebrox So, there are no guarantees, so you have to be conservative with how you manage the situation. Anyone, thinking they have that money in their back pocket to play with at this time is a fool is my point.
English

@BlueBullet1981 @EdmOilerlytics What are you even talking about at this point Brad? I’ve lost track of your point.
English

@Kylebrox @EdmOilerlytics If, if, if... you can't count on ifs. You have to be prepared for the worst-case scenario. Anything else is lazy planning and management.
English

@BlueBullet1981 @EdmOilerlytics So now this is a “human emotion” issue?
No team is going to put three goalies on their nightly playoff roster. So someone gets sick right before the game, what happens?
If Anderson/Levi/Jarry are all equal, you sit the highest paid goalie.
English

@EdmOilerlytics @Kylebrox It's definitely more complex than the narrative you've been espousing. I find you tend to miss the point that hockey players are human beings with human emotions.
Something that you are describing would have to be very clearly communicated and handled delicately.
English

@EdmOilerlytics @BlueBullet1981 Unless one of Levi or Anderson are unplayable, Jarry’s in the pressbox creating $5.4M space.
English

@Kylebrox @BlueBullet1981 Jarry would travel with the team still. It’s not that hard to manage. People are acting like it’s a much more complex situation than what it is.
English

@BlueBullet1981 @EdmOilerlytics I wonder what time of day you have to set your playoff roster. Not like Jarry has to travel to Bakersfield if he’s not being played.
Jarry is a very obvious place to gain playoff cap space. If Freddie is not healthy (or Levi sucks) you put Jarry on the bench.
English

@EdmOilerlytics So Andersen goes down with an injury, give me the backup plan? I am tired of these lazy narratives that you can't just sit Jarry in the playoffs.
English

@MrAudet @CurtisDer Him being Yakupov is my fear too. What do you see that makes you think that?
English

I said it at the time that it was a poor decision to trade O'Reilly. My feed is littered with my comments. I hope I'm epically wrong. #Oilers

@OilersNation @OilersNow They’re carrying 3 goalies Bob. They’re going to wave one of Emberson or Shakir?
C’mon now.

Bob Stauffer believes that Josh Brown will have an opportunity to make the Oilers roster next season.

Uhhhh, really?
So is the plan to run 3 goalies next year?
No shot you trade a 3rd for Levi and risk him to waivers.
Let’s see what the $$$ is on this I guess.

**Breaking News ** 🚨 📰 Per sources, I’m told Stanley Cup Champ G Andersen agreed to a 1 Yr Contract with the @EdmontonOilers . #HockeyX

Awesome! Happy to see Kapanen back! Can play with Leon when needed, but I see him as an ideal 3RW.
(See? I'm not always negative 😂)

KAPPY HOUR EXTENDED ⏰ The #Oilers have re-signed forward Kasperi Kapanen to a one-year contract with an AAV of $2.6 million.

@coopsie39 Shea has like two years in the league? And is 29?
Makes me nervous.
English

@BuffaloSabres How did Cossa go for a 1st but Levi who has had an objectively better career left for a 3rd
English

We have acquired a third-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Devon Levi and a seventh-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft.
