Meanwhile the regime in Iran has spent decades enriching uranium and building ballistic missiles capable of striking U.S. forces and allies while chanting “Death to America.” The regime has been attacking Americans for 47 years.

Just a note, there were more Americans killed in Chicago this weekend then there was in Iran. Democrats won’t say much about the deaths in Chicago because it’s not actually about caring for people. It’s about what they see as politically useful.

I’ve said it (more than) once and I’ll say it again: root for America.

California has the largest community of Iranians and Iranian-Americans outside of Iran. The overwhelming majority, me included, value and cherish freedom, human rights, women’s rights, protections for children and the elderly, religious freedoms, and really just being able to let down your hair, sing a song, enjoy life and live without being kidnapped or oppressed. Newsom is so wrapped up in hating Trump and his selfish aspirations of running for President, he can’t even see the oppression he claims to stand against everyday. The rights of a little girl in Iran is equal under God to the rights of a little girl in the USA. You either stand for freedom and human rights or you just don’t.

SENTENCED TO THREE LIFE TERMS: WHY WAS SERIAL CHILD MOLESTER DAVID FUNSTON GRANTED EARLY RELEASE? The people of Sacramento, and every parent across California, deserve answers. The California Parole Board has granted parole to David Allen Funston, a serial child molester who used candy and toys to lure children seven years old and younger. He was convicted of 16 counts of kidnapping and child molestation. Multiple young children were victimized, some as young as four years old. He was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison, along with three additional consecutive sentences of 25 years to life. A judge described him as “the monster parents fear the most.” Yet today, the parole board has determined he is suitable for release. How do they explain that to those children and their parents? How do they tell families that a predator of this nature is “no longer a risk”? Under California’s Elderly Parole Program, inmates over 50 are eligible for parole. He is 64. Age does not erase predatory behavior. It does not undo grooming. It does not restore stolen childhoods. Childhood sexual predators do not suddenly become safe because they turned 50; they cannot be rehabilitated. Most states exclude heinous crimes like this from elderly parole. California does not. Today, a survivor bravely spoke about what this decision means. Detective Rodriguez, who worked this case, knows firsthand what this man was capable of and how he was caught. The Elderly Parole Program was meant for those who no longer pose a danger. In cases like this, it fails. Our number one responsibility is to protect children. That should never be controversial or partisan. Protecting children is not rhetoric. It is common sense. Protect children first. Always.

Gabriel Daniel Fernandez was born on February 20, 2005. Today would have been his 21st birthday. ❤️ As a community, we should never forget Gabriel. When Gabriel needed it most, no one was there to hold him, to love him, to caress him, and to just tell him "everything will be alright." To me, however, Gabriel will always be an example of courage. His case, his life, his death, and his trial will always be with his family, with my family, and with the community. No matter what any one person tries to do, he will never be forgotten. He has made me a better person, a better father, and a better prosecutor. I have tried to stay true to Gabriel's legacy by continuing the fight for justice for many more child victims. We all need to keep doing our part. Children are our future. They deserve and have a right to be safe at all times. Celebrate Gabriel’s life. But also honor his legacy. If you see abuse, always say or do something. Don't remain silent. It is past time to expose and hold accountable all child predators, especially the rich and powerful ones. No matter what political party someone belongs too, no matter what position they hold in governent or life, if you abused a child, conspired to abuse, aided and abetted in that abuse, enabled, or just straight up failed as a human to help a child, you must be held accountable. The safety of ALL children is everyone’s responsibility. If you suspect a child is suffering from abuse or neglect, please call 911 AND your local DCFS or CPS Hotline.
