I’ve encouraged y’all to vote for years. So today I don’t give a damn about who feels shamed — because some of y’all need to be shamed. One day into early voting. Democrats turned out 35,498 voters. Republicans 32,051. But 901,000 Black registered voters in Louisiana have not moved yet. How bad does it have to get? They have to put the sign up on the plantation for you to take this shit serious? Jefferson Parish — 68,500 Black voters sitting at home. Caddo — 70,000. Lafayette — 37,500. These are not small numbers. These are elections. I don’t care that Democrats are outperforming Republicans. I care that Black people have the numbers to send a real message and too many are sitting on their asses. Voting NO on all 5 of Jeff Landry’s amendments sends a message to a legislature that is coming for your representation right now. Your life costs more. Your world is less safe. The disruption was planned to ruin the event because trump dislikes the press and didn't want to be there. In previous years he just didn't attend, but this time he wanted to ruin it. The evilness and viciousness is getting worse.

I’m leaving the Capitol at 4am after Republicans rammed through a vote paving a path for $70B to fund ICE for years without any reforms/accountability. They rejected all Dem proposals to lower your healthcare costs, housing, and gas prices. Spread the word. We need to stop this.
