Gastric glomus tumor They can occur in the stomach and can pose a diagnostic challenge, especially on biopsy or FNA. The center of the tumor can become hyalinized or myxoid. They are positive for SMA, calponin, h-caldesmon, and collagen type IV, and negative for desmin, S100, chromogranin, and CD117/KIT. This atypical lipomatous tumor (well-differentiated liposarcoma) is unusual in containing plentiful lipoblasts.

These small intestinal biopsies from a patient with markedly elevated serum IgM from a splenic plasmacytoid extranodal marginal zone (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma show dramatic edema and IgM deposition that resulted in malabsorption. There is no lymphoma.
