My grandson came home yesterday and told his mum that they had a lesson on muslims, and their religion in school that day. Today, my family decided that as Christians, catholics, and with Jewish relatives as well as women's rights activists aplenty within our family, this was not appropriate, needed, or wanted. Monday, the head teacher will have a complaint she never imagined, she will never forget and will never wish repeated.

@ScottishSuffra1 @RewildScotland FGM is predominantly practiced in African culture. In majority Christian countries included. Islam has no concept of FGM. Only circumcision of male children. By the way the piercing and wearing horrible looking metal all over bodies is not mutilation? Have you condemned that?

No animal deserves to face its final moments fully conscious, in a state of terror and pain. In a landmark ruling in 2023, a Greek court drew a firm line by declaring that slaughter without prior stunning is not legally permitted — a quiet but deeply significant victory for animal welfare. The court acknowledged what science has long confirmed: animals feel fear, pain, and distress just as acutely as any living being, and they deserve basic protection, especially in their most vulnerable moments. This decision is not a statement against any religion or community; it is a commitment to upholding fundamental welfare standards that apply to every animal, regardless of the reason for slaughter. Change like this rarely happens loudly — but for every animal spared from dying in full consciousness and agony, this ruling speaks volumes. When courts choose compassion, they speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

@Nugent4nil @ScottishSuffra1 Islam is a religion, not a race. And how many of the religions you learnt about at school make it impossible to leave? Force women and girls to cover every inch of their bodies? Use inhumane slaughter methods? Or force girls to marry their cousins?

A child has been sentenced to execution by hanging in Occupied Iran. Diana Taherabadi is only 16. The Islamic Regime dragged her out bed, confiscated her family's phones, and kidnapped her. It takes a second for you to speak up. DO IT.

@josealfredobh @CollinRugg What about the rest of it? Still makes the same point though. No man can ever understand what it is to be female. What it is to have not lived with male privilege. No man can ever feel the pain women have suffered and are still suffering. Why? Because they're not women!

This post is misleading, not because you must agree with Fabiana Bolsonaro, but because it distorts what she actually said. Here are her own words, translated as faithfully as possible: “I am a white woman. I’ve had the privileges of a white person my whole life.” “Now, at 32, I decide to paint myself, to disguise myself as a black person… and I ask you: did I become black?” “Do I feel the pain that black people have suffered? … No.” “It doesn’t matter if I paint myself — I don’t know what you went through.” “That’s why I cannot lead that agenda… because I am not black.” And then she explicitly adds: “Trans people must be respected… I don’t want any trans person to suffer discrimination.” Now compare that to the viral post. It claims she said: “Putting dark foundation doesn’t make you black, just like changing your body doesn’t make you a different gender.” That sentence does not appear in her speech. What she actually did was: - Use a racial analogy (controversial, yes) - Argue that lived experience matters in representation - Extend that reasoning to gender You can disagree with that argument. You can criticize the analogy. But that’s not what this post is doing. Instead, it: - Invents a cleaner, more aggressive quote that she never literally said - Removes the parts where she explicitly calls for respect toward trans people - Reframes an analogy as a direct attack statement - Presents interpretation as if it were a verbatim quote This is not reporting — it’s editorial rewriting for outrage. 🚨 If you want to debate her position, do it honestly. 🚨 Quote what she actually said, not what fits better in a viral narrative.

NEW: Brazilian politician Fabiana Bolsonaro performs blackface to show trans people that putting dark foundation on her face doesn't make her black, just like changing your body doesn't make you a different gender. The incident was reportedly a protest against the appointment of federal lawmaker Erika Hilton, a trans woman. "I am painted black on the outside. I identify as black. So why can't I preside over the anti-racism commission? Why can't I take care of this agenda? Because I am not black."

If people want to know why Gen X is always mad, it's because we had to replace our record collections with a tape collection and then replace that with a CD collection that we slowly replaced with an MP3 collection and now need a subscription to listen to music.

Well I was raised in a Catholic-Sikh household and don’t practice either of those, let alone a third religion! But I respect all faiths and believe people should be treated equally - every other major religion has public prayer events in Trafalgar Square, Muslims should have the same freedoms as everyone else. It’s not controversial unless you’re a massive bigot.

Within just 48 hours of the Tories refusing to sack Nick Timothy for his Islamophobic comments, the far-right is circulating a list of MPs “of foreign descent” trying to “silence” him. This is what happens when racism is normalised from the top: democratically elected representatives being told that we shouldn't be allowed to make decisions here at all, and even that we should leave the country. It’s a racist attack on our very democracy. Will Nick and his party condemn it?

Sacked for telling the truth. I have read the report from the DfE and it is disgraceful. A good teacher has been struck off for holding very normal, common-sense views. Civil servants in Westminster would faint if they met someone from Darlington or Middlesbrough. They are completely detached from reality. I hope Mr Everett appeals and is successful.
