@isolatedrook This is the EVE online problem. Legendary game with tons of famous stories of espionage and war. Beloved by those who play it. Extremely complicated and unforgiving. Also incredibly niche with no clear way to break into the mainstream, if one even exists at all.

If a less rewarding and somewhat limited PVE mode is what it takes to get people on Marathon, I would be fine with it. I'm thinking something along the lines of Sea of Thieves' Safer Seas mode if anyone is familiar with that. Something to better ease players into the game so it's not so daunting at first.

Being on the downside of peak oil production means that oil will get increasingly harder and more expensive to produce, but it won’t run out for generations. The real scary thing is that that is also true of every other rare earth mineral on earth

@Limerance20 @MrMatthewTodd renewables are for useful idiots they have negative eroei and they were rolled out after 2008 in hail mary attempt by government. We hit peak world wide oil production in 2018 they dont mention that much its first you have ever heard of it.

Note this: the culture of the next 20 years will be dominated by the anger of young people at why the climate crisis wasn’t adequately explained and dealt with over the last 40 years.

i wish i didn't hold this opinion because i enjoyed halo but a while ago i was fiending for more marathon content and i was like "maybe playing through all the bungie halos would fill that void" and i came out of it insanely underwhelmed

Marathon is being so slept on by the FPS community. It's been really interesting as a content creator, hearing directly from viewers that they refuse to watch because they can’t get past the polarizing visuals to understand that this is truly one of the best feeling FPS experiences in years with tight gunplay, insane tension (genuinely has my heart beating out my chest) and a gameplay loop that actually rewards skill and decision making. But I think that's also the games biggest problem. People like to bash the art style but really I think it's that PvP games just don’t stick like they used to. They’re harder to get into, harder to watch, and don’t have broad, instant appeal. If it’s not immediately accessible or visually “safe” people bounce. So Marathon ends up overlooked, not because it’s bad (it's great) but because it’s different at a time when most players just want familiar. *It's also crazy that Bungie took such a huge risk on a niche game with a niche art style for such a niche demographic so I can understand where the negativity is coming from as far as gamers wanting more than just "another extraction shooter" but they made a damn good one and I hope more people give it a chance.

Anybody who puts less than 7 Minutes of research into this we'll see that walking probably saves you an extra couple hundred calories at most during the day.
