Simply people cant afford to pay anymore than what they are so even though these changes will reduce available rental supply they are going to avoid a rent spike
That took some planning so this definitely wasn't a change in position relating to housing supply as nothing they have done over the last 4 years has been designed to significantly lower demand, property prices or rents. Some policies have been designed to do the exact opposite (5% deposit scheme)
Every asset class is getting slugged with the CGT increase while the focus is on negative gearing changes
This is a blatant tax grab disguised as housing policy

I went to 4-5 different beaches in Mumbai during my trip. They were fairly clean. They were just tooo crowded. That happens in a city of 25 million.

The Full Federal Court has handed down its judgement in Giggle v Tickle. In a shock to women across the country - Sall Grover not only lost her appeal, the Court set aside the original finding of indirect discrimination and replaced it with direct discrimination, upholding Tickle's cross-appeal. The damages were doubled from $10,000 to $20,000. It’s important to note the Court expressly said it was only applying the Sex Discrimination Act as it is written- it is "not empowered to give effect to its own view" about whether that law is desirable. In 2013, @JuliaGillard’s @AustralianLabor government amended the Sex Discrimination Act- stripping the meaning out of "man" and "woman" and adding gender identity as a protected attribute to be pitted against biological sex. Today's outcome is proof of what those amendments have done: women are left with no meaningful rights or recognition under the Sex Discrimination Act - a bitter irony, given that protecting women was the very purpose of the Act under our commitment to CEDAW. In my opinion, this is a verdict on the law, not on Sall. The judges found that the law - as that government amended it - left them no other conclusion. These amendments must be repealed. The Sex Discrimination Act must once again recognise biological reality and protect women's right to single-sex spaces. Sall Grover took a big hit today for the girls and women of Australia. She's a champion.
But it is our politicians who created this ridiculous situation and Liberal and Nationals did NOTHING in 9 years of Government to fix it.
And of course the Governor General's charity, the radical 🏳️🌈 political lobby Equality Australia, was on hand to say how great today's verdict was (unless you are a girl who doesn't want to encounter a bloke in your bathroom).
But EA Legal Director Heather Corkhill wasn't too keen on answering the question that is on every parent's lips.

In April of 2021 horrible, racist graffiti was found in the stairwell at Albion College in Michigan.
Sprawled on the walls were hateful messages like "KKK White Power" & "Die N*gger Please"
Liberals country-wide cried outrage!! Albion students were enraged and student marches were quickly organized to fight this evil racism! (see below)
This incident was part of a string of racist incidents that started the month prior.
Albion College later identified the perpetrator as a single student, a Black male. And suddenly no one at Albion College cared about racism anymore. The marches ceased immediately, the perpetrator's name was never released, and it was swept right under the rug.
