Bill Maher fires back at Billie Eilish and leftist “kids” who “don’t know what the f*ck” America is about. “I want to… say something about Western civilization. Kids, you don’t know what the f*ck it is.” “They think Western means white—and white means bad. First of all, everything bad that white people did, people of color did it, too. The Japanese before World War II and during World War II. And Genghis Khan, and I could go on and on.” “The left is very down on America, very down on the West. And it’s ironic because the West has also given us everything that makes your life good here. Don’t ask Billie Eilish or Chappell Roan about what the Western values are, because they’ll just say it’s about oppression.” “But it’s not about oppression. It’s about rule of law. It’s about respect for minorities. It’s about democracy. It’s about scientific inquiry. These are all good things that came from the Western world. I wish that schools would teach that again.”

Ken Griffin is the American story. A kid trading out of a dorm room, who went on to build Citadel LLC into a global powerhouse. He didn’t inherit it. He built it. Took risk. Won. And what’s the result? More than 2,500 jobs in New York City. Over $2.3 billion in taxes paid to New York. Over $650 million in philanthropic contributions tied to this city. Thousands more jobs coming from major development projects. That’s not rhetoric. That’s impact. But instead of learning from that success, some politicians would rather demonize it. Because tearing people down is easier than building anything yourself. So let’s be very real: If Ken Griffin and firms like his leave New York… who replaces 2,500 high-paying jobs? Who replaces billions in tax revenue? Who funds the services you claim to care about? A government-run grocery store? That’s not economic policy. That’s fantasy. And to @ZohranKMamdani What have you actually built? How many jobs have you created? How many people depend on you for a paycheck? What real risk have you ever taken? We need builders. Not people who attack them.

It is hard for me to empathize with Salt's inverted morality. The concrete isn't about vengeance - it is about justice. It is to punish the wrongdoer to discourage future wrong doing. If bad actions have bad consequences, then there will be less bad actions. If bad actions have no consequences, there will be more bad actions. This Salty fool would allow evil to thrive and persist so he could feel virtuous.

The Mailbox Test, like the breakfast test, is an excellent way to tell who you can allow to wield power in your society. Goes like this: If someone is hurt trying to destroy someone else's stuff in order to take pleasure from their pain, do you sympathize with... The aggressor because he got hurt? Or with the guy who owns the stuff, because he wasn't the aggressor? You can have people in your society who fail the Mailbox Test. That's okay... they can work at hospices, or shelters for orphaned kittens, or something. But you cannot allow them to vote, or otherwise wield political power. Because if you do, they will open the gates of the city to the enemy. I am personally tired of everyone pretending that people who enjoy ruining things for random strangers are just kewt smol beans who are only aggressive because of all the complex socioeconomic factors and lack of resources. They knew someone would be hurt by what they did. They knew that someone had done literally nothing harmful to them. And those two ideas, in combination made them feel pleasure. And they went and did it. That is the sign of a rotten soul. Defending ourselves and our property is not just a right, it's a moral obligation. Otherwise, we just kick the can down the road for someone else to deal with, someone who may not be able to defend herself. I don't care if a vandal breaks his arms trying to destroy my stuff. Because I value my stuff more than a vandal's arms. And the fact that he tried to destroy somebody else's stuff shows that he, too, values his arms less than the opportunity to hurt somebody. We cannot allow such people inside the city, and we cannot give the keys to those who would open the gates for them.

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

Secretary Hegseth on Wednesday shared a custom prayer, referenced as the CSAR prayer, used by the brave warfighters of Sandy-1 who led the daylight rescue mission of Dude 44 Alpha out of Iran, which was obviously inspired by dialogue in Pulp Fiction. However, both the CSAR prayer and the dialogue in Pulp Fiction were reflections of the verse Ezekiel 25:17, as Secretary Hegseth clearly said in his remarks at the prayer service. Anyone saying the Secretary misquoted Ezekiel 25:17 is peddling fake news and ignorant of reality.
Variety@Variety

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tried to evoke Holy Scripture but instead quoted Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" during a Pentagon worship service. Hagseth read the altered version of Ezekiel 25:17 quoted by Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the movie just before he shoots a man to death. variety.com/2026/film/news…

🚨#BREAKING: The woman who was randomly shot in the face 6 times and st*bbed to de*th while she was walking her dog in Atlanta GA has been identified as 40-year-old Lauren Bullis. The suspect, “Olaolukitan Adon Abel” was also allegedly in the process of se*ually assaulting her before neighbors came to the scene. Olaolukitan is charged with 3 other "completely random" shootings and the de*th of another woman. We do not have to live like this.

@kyle_papili @michelletandler @NYCMayor Yes you are missing something. In fact, you are missing everything. The objective isn't to do anything better or cheaper. The objective is to make stupid people think you're "doing something" while simultaneously money laundering millions.

@michelletandler have to agree on this one… @NYCMayor you’ve been killing it in many ways so far. Am I missing something here? You’re a smart reasonable guy, what will this store do better / cheaper than an Aldi, Costco, or other pre-existing grocery store?

How on earth can it cost $30 million and three years for the NYC government to build a grocery store in Harlem? There are *dozens* of grocery stores for sale, all over New York City, for less than $5M. Many are less than $1M. This seems like a scam. (or vanity project)

Yes, we do. We do have to live like this until men start standing up and protecting women. We damn sure have to live like this until the men in this country start protecting women and children. We will live like this until men man up, ignore comments about toxic, masculinity, and start protecting our women and children. Until then we do have to live like this.

I'd heard how crazy the college admissions process is, but now seeing it in reality has blown my mind. My kid has great grades (4.2 weighted) with a ton of APs, leadership ec's, a very solid athletic resume, parents paying cash, etc., all at a private college-preparatory HS, and she has basically no chance of getting into a UC or CSU for her major. Not sure what needs to be done, but this is crazy. 🙄😩

@UltraRunnerPod @BartemyS Bartemy didn't say to lie. He said to find out if you have any African American or other minority roots in your family history so you can claim to be a minority to get preferential treatment. That's what Elizabeth Warren did to get into college.

when spacex was getting started, the first and last men to walk on the moon testified before congress against it. gene cernan told congress commercial space companies "do not yet know what they don't know." he said the boeings and lockheed martins were "the folks who have been working on everything we've done for the last 50 years. they know how it can be done." neil armstrong said he was "not confident" the newcomers could achieve their goals. together with jim lovell they warned it would put america on "a long downward slide to mediocrity." spacex now launches more rockets than every country on earth combined. the experts will always tell you it can't be done. build it anyway!

@Lionel_Louis_M @TheKairosPulse The engines have nothing to do with it. The pilot likely thought his flaps were deployed and so tried to rotate (takeoff) the airplane at too slow of an airspeed. Once the airplane settled back on the runway and built airspeed, it was able to takeoff without flaps.

@TheKairosPulse Here the issue was no flaps, but I have seen jets able to take off in this no flap configuration but with considerably longer takeoff distance, could the B737 engines also be the issue being somewhat underpowered or am I wrong.

A man in Louisiana, USA stopped to rescue one tiny kitten on the side of the road. Instead he got ambushed by the rest of the litter hiding in the tall grass. Thirteen kittens in total. This happened back in 2022. Robert Brantley was heading to the shooting range after work when he saw the kitten. Most people only saw the first moment online. Almost nobody knew what he did next. He was not planning to take any home that day. But he could not leave them there. He loaded all thirteen into his car and brought the whole group home. He and his wife fostered them for weeks until they were healthy. They found loving homes for nearly every one.

@anindanet It took 5 seconds for the car to hit the truck after the merge. At 300km/h, a car travels 417 meters in 5 seconds. When the truck looked in his rear view, the car was 1/2 kilometer away. It would take about 6 seconds to slow from 300km/h to 100km/h.

@Jess_theRaccat @solanobicalho @anindanet You have a blind spot mirror to look down at the side all the way to the end of the trailer. Your side mirror is pointed at the distance. The side mirror even has some magnification to see even further. 100% you can time it and there being SO many videos I think some do. 🤷‍♂️
