Hear ye! 'Tis time for Stuart Saturday! For this weekend's topic, which one event would you wish you could go back in time to Stuart Britain to witness (observation only, no engagement)? For me, I'd choose to see something grand, like the Aqua Triumphalis in 1662. 'Aqua Triumphalis. The Entry of the Queen in London on the River Thames, welcomed by the Lord Mayor and the citizens of London, surrounded by little boats representing the different guilds in the foreground, several houses to the right; from a series of seven prints showing the journey of the Infant Catherine of Braganza from Portugal to marry Charles II in London. 1662 Etching' © The Trustees of the British Museum.

Belgium did the Trump dance after their fourth goal against us. I can’t help but respect this trash talk. They whipped us, they get to dance.

My Fourth of July message to American Law Enforcement To America’s Law Enforcement: As our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, I want to thank the men and women of law enforcement who are spending this Fourth of July doing what they have always done—standing watch while others celebrate. Today, you are away from your families, protecting our communities from crime and disorder while remaining vigilant against those who would do our nation harm. The profession I have devoted my life to has never been without challenges, and today’s officers continue to serve in an environment shaped by intense public scrutiny, political debate, and evolving threats. Yet your dedication endures. On this historic anniversary, remember why you chose this honorable profession. You are part of something far greater than yourselves. The freedoms we celebrate today—first declared 250 years ago and safeguarded by the Constitution you have sworn to uphold—depend upon the rule of law and the public safety you provide each and every day. As Thomas Paine wisely wrote: “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” You understand that truth more than many. Through your sacrifice, professionalism, and unwavering resolve, you help preserve the freedoms that define this nation. Thank you for your service, your courage, and your steadfast commitment to protecting our communities. I wish you and your families a safe, meaningful, and happy Fourth of July as we celebrate 250 years of American independence. Cops Count. Police Matter. Sincerely, Bill Bratton
