🕹️ Throwback to 1992 The Lost Vikings on the Super Nintendo! This puzzle-platformer is awesome. You control three Viking brothers, Erik the Swift, Baleog the Fierce, and Olaf the Stout, each with unique abilities, as they team up to escape alien captivity and find their way home. What makes it legendary? The innovative character-switching gameplay that forces you to coordinate their distinct skills (speedy running/jumping, sword and bow combat, and shield blocking/gliding) to solve clever environmental puzzles and overcome obstacles. Smart teamwork-based puzzling across sci-fi and fantasy levels = one of the most creative and enjoyable games of the 16-bit era. #RetroGaming #TheLostVikings #SNES

👋 Team! Here's the beta intro for the game I'm working on. I wanted it to be as short as possible. What do you think?

@oldyzach This game still makes me feel embarassed because I gave up on it after not being able to rescue someone in the third mission and thinking I failed and gave up after many tries. Only later I realized that was part of the story and you could not really save him. :)

Certain SNES titles continue to see regular replays years after release. Which single Super Nintendo game do you return to most often?

Are you over 50? Play COMMODORE AMIGA games! There are benefits to playing video games: Cognitive improvements — Studies, including those funded by the National Institute on Aging, have found that playing video games like Amiga puzzle-platformers (e.g., Lemmings), and action-strategy titles (The Settlers)—offer engaging challenges that promote problem-solving, planning, spatial reasoning, and quick decision-making, all of which support cognitive health in older adults. Emotional and mental health — Gaming reduces stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, boosts mood through dopamine release, and improves overall well-being and life satisfaction. Seniors who game report fewer feelings of loneliness. Social benefits — Multiplayer or online games foster connections, teamwork, and even multigenerational bonding (e.g., playing with grandkids). If you are an Amiga gamer, order Retrogames Ltd's TheA1200 choose the link for your country -> linktr.ee/commodore_comp… pre-orders open now. Enjoy playing classic games, it could be good for you... and at least you will have fun. We need more fun in our lives! Modern console games can sometimes be overwhelming for aged non gamers, but the simplistic pixel graphics, the iconic music and the massive selection of puzzle games, strategy games and platformers on the Amiga could help you more than you realise... and they are fun.

@GOGcom I love Robbo and I am just developing a similar game (closer to Supaplex though). The colors especially of the original version were magical - that dark blue and yellow. Here is very early screenshot from mine. :)

One of Poland's first digital heroes just came home. Robbo – in three versions, covering three eras – is now on GOG alongside Electro Man, Heartlight, Citadel Remonstered, and MaSzyna. Five titles joining the GOG Preservation Program. Almost everything free to download and keep. Polish gaming history belongs to everyone 💜 gog.com/promo/20260430…

It is the ultimate truth that you can never have too many well-made pixel games. Especially when they are pixel dungeon crawlers. Underkeep from @rakeingrass is just such a game 😎 You can check out the demo here: store.steampowered.com/app/2411200/Un…

I quite often find older games to have a fair bit of educational value - history, geography, economics, etc - think of Civilization, Colonization, The Oregon Trail, Imperialism, Pirates, Sim City. That part of gaming doesn’t seem to have any place in today’s industry. Thank you kindly for the retweet by the way, much appreciated 🙏

Same this game had a lot of soul and my basic knowledge of US colonisation and US independence is based on this. In this game the British will absolutely kick your arse at the end if you’re not fully prepared AND have French help. It’s still a great game.

Regardless of whether your gaming days started in the 70s, 80s, or 90s - what's a game that has never left your heart? Easy pick for me: Colonization (1994) Beautiful pixel graphics? Yep! One of the best soundtracks ever? Absolutely! Excellent gameplay? Roger that! Replayability score? Very, very high. A near-perfect game.

Another mini game I am working on. I swear, I am very close to releasing first of them. :) I just got really addicted to making new ones, it is so much fun. This one is a Color Lines inspired game where you defend the Core from anomalous monsters. #indiedev #gamedev

5.5 doesnt seem like the improvement it was made out to be, but its significantly faster thats for sure otherwise, its a stepwise improvement, or so it seems like also it being more expensive doesnt matter much if it outputs much less tokens
