Whoever came up with the phrase cheap is expensive certainly never fueled at Astrol Petrol Station. 1. It is 100% Kenyan, founded in 2000 by the late Thayu Kamal Kabugi and is now run by the son, James Mwangi. 2. They not only own the land their stations are built on to cut costs but also manage their stations directly rather than franchising. 3. Their fuel contains a high 91 PON rating, which is higher than the premium fuels around, including V-Power. 4. They are not only 2 - 7 shillings cheaper but also never hoard fuel whenever there are shortages. We don’t appreciate such companies enough

When the NIS DG Nordin Haji introduced the deputy DG Agnes Shikuku in February, I did some research on her. Her first public appearance and recognition brought into light one of Kenya's secretive spy queens. Video link in the comments. 👇 x.com/BriefIntelHQ/s…

@Tuju_CM Before the change on May 11, 2026, KCB used a tiered pricing model where the fee increased as you sent more money. Previously, sending Sh500,000 would have cost you Sh240. Now, it costs exactly the same as sending Sh1,500, just Sh20.

KCB has reduced Pesalink transfer charges to Sh20 for transactions between Sh1,000 and Sh999,999, while transfers below Sh1,000 are now free. The move is part of the banking sector’s “Tuma Direct na 20” campaign.

Having children Do not understand why people have so few children nowadays. And really....money or costs are not the reason. We all know poor people in the past had loads of children while parents were working all the time, and they still turned out ok. Not every kid needs the newest iphone either. Ok, if you are going full inner development and recluse mode for some years and really want to get to the core of your being, i get it, you want and need to be alone a while, i did that too, but most on here do not want that anyway Together with inner development, children are without a doubt the biggest joy in my life: they are so pure in the moment, one can learn so much from them how they can have fun with the simplest things, they forgive quickly, they are so open and free of spirit, amazing uncontaminated energy. Just incredible really Have kids, you will not regret it. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, especially for crypto-dudes and girls that lack purpose in life. And that is coming from me who loves being alone and lives as a recluse for a long time, i would never have wanted to miss this experience

For someone to pull such a move to scam people , I believe huwa anajua you cant withdraw such amount of money via bank bila explanation ya Source of income. Mbona huyu jamaa hakueka hii pesa kwa Decentralized wallets ama mnataka kusema hakua anajua? Na mbona hakutoa in small amounts to avoid being flagged? Vitu zingine hata kuelewa ni ngumu sana. There are soo many ways to get away with such an amount of money why play this dumb mpaka unajipeana in the last process.
The Kenyan Vigilante@KenyanSays

A Nairobi court has authorized police to detain a man for seven days after he allegedly received 33 million shillings in a massive cryptocurrency fraud scheme. Dickson Ndege Nyakango was arrested at a local bank while attempting to withdraw funds linked to the scam. The suspect is accused of using fraudulent online apps to lure investors into fake schemes. Investigators believe he used these platforms to siphon over 58 million shillings by impersonating a licensed investment firm. Detectives are now tracing the movement of the stolen crypto assets.

@rodgers_adai You didn’t mention anything to do with the bank’s performance and whether or not it’s doing well. How much the CEO is paid is not a problem as long as he delivers.

I have been checking the list of the Highest paid CEOs in Kenya the last 10 years and most are from Banking Industry with makes like Gideon Muriuki, Co-Operative Bank, Joshua Oigara KCB,Martin Oduor Otieno KCB, James Mwangi Equity, Awori Standard Bank as examples over the years. And in each year, the CEOs of Kenya Public Banks i.e. Cooperative Bank, KCB have been extraordinarily high compared to Banks like ABSA, Standard Bank. Oigara KCB used to earn several multipliers more than Awori of SCB. But the most striking are the earnings of Gideon Muriuki of Co-Op Bank. He has been CEO since 2001!! Does it mean the Board since that time have NEVER Bern able to identify or groom a replacement?? Is he superhuman? I look at the Board and you mostly see 'Educationists'. You dint have a calibre like Michael Joseph who can raffle feathers. It might mean there has never been a Board member to point out overcompensation in the CEOs Contract. And should have been rectified even by 2005. Cooperative Bank is owned 64 % by Co-Op Holding Cooperative Society. Does an ordinary member of a Cooperative think they might be overcompensating the CEO of Cooperative Bank? Earning Shs 1 million PER DAY, Shs 31M per Month and Shs 450M per Month in my opinion appears like overcompensation for work done. Co-Op Bank was majority owned by Cooperatives and Cooperatives were required to open accounts with the Bank. So raising Capital was not really a problem with Co-op bank unlike other Banks who have to go out of their way to get deposits to lend. So that performance is wind assisted. When Michael Joseph went to Kenya Airways, he terminated the McKinsey Contract which was bleeding KQ. Could it be possible that Gideon Muriuki is too experienced for Co-op Bank Board who mostly are probably elected by Cooperatives and therefore cannot have the guts to try to change the CEO? This is where the Govt, mush as we vilify it is supposed to have a good control of Public related entities. All Banks in Tier 1 and 2 are making Billions so his performance cannot be extraordinary. The same situation prevails at KTDA. You read good news from KTDA. The Government should have a role. KCB has had a change of CEOs from Martin Oduor, Joshua Oigara and now Russo which is a good thing and they don't overstay. Once you have Board Members coming in via Elections from grassroots, it is unlikely you will have the best professionals in the Industry who can make tough professional decisions. More so because they are only there for a short period.
