10-minute delivery in India isn't magic. It's really good engineering. @albinder and @letsblinkit built tech that most people never see. We went deep on how it works.

This company knew what it was doing. Took money from customers months in advance. Made money on that parked money. Cancelled flights exactly during Putin's visit when PMO will be busy. But heard ran its international code share flights with Turkish airlines. Created issues to steal the spotlight from the Russian president's state visit in Indian media. Harassed the govt during this Russian visit which the west and the DS, that run the war in Ukraine, don't like. By creating a public issue by keeping customers hostage at airport saying "flight delayed" for a day or more. And takes more time to refund money after confirming the cancellation. Increased prices drastically for the small number of domestic flights it operates. It arm twisted the govt to roll back safety rules benefitting passengers and airline crews by creating an immediate crisis. There was also a coordinated mass psyops campaign that made everyone blame the govt and dgca for everything this airline did. People who don't even know what the issue was about are doing this automatically. Not blaming the people who think thus. But won't blame the govt too much on this. It seems a well planned hit job. Once Putin visit is over, I hope the PMO, HMO, and concerned ministries take strict action on the airline and its promoters. End its Turkish airlines code share. And make it fire its foreign CEO. Then take the owners to task. Break the airline into three. Like the US broke Bell AT&T telecom company. That is the best way to deal with this. Also be prepared for and preempt any sabotage that brings down another plane to blame it on "pilot error" again and then on DGCA relaxed rules to pin the GoI.
Aravind@aravind

"Everything is DS. What is govt doing?" Wait, a private company with a foreign CEO will suddenly stop services exactly when PM is busy hosting Putin, not two days before or after. Will still serve their profitable international side of business without any issues, but make Indian public suffer all around the country, arm twist the govt to relax rules for rest of our hardworking people putting public in danger. But we have to blame the govt for this and somehow make them responsible for the situation created exactly at this time suddenly by a private company? Sure. What we should blame the govt for is the iron hand of the govt is not acting on this hostage situation, removing foreign ceos in critical sectors of India in time, and giving into such terrorist demands to help the public. Tomorrow, if god forbid, an accident happens, you will still want to blame govt for not giving enough rest to the hardworking employees. And this catch-22 is the plan.

India is slowly becoming its own worst enemy for builders I love this country. I am building here by choice. But the truth is ugly and nobody wants to say it out loud. Compliance is killing momentum. Incorporating a company should take days. Not weeks or months because of random delays in name approvals, DIN, DSC, bank requests, and vague documentation rules. GST was meant to simplify. For startups, it does the opposite. We pay GST to the government even when platforms like Shopify don’t. That slashes top-line revenue and adds insane monthly complexity for early-stage teams. At ReferRush, some of our biggest headaches had nothing to do with product: • Delays in incorporation and additional entities for escrow and payouts • Paying GST on transactions that don’t even touch our bank account • Getting bank mandates approved just to securely store a credit card • Repeated KYC and compliance loops for basic things like payouts and subscriptions • Export and foreign remittance restrictions making global business painful Then there’s the market reality. ACVs in America are higher. Buyers move faster. Less bureaucracy. Higher ROI for the same effort. Yet in India, we tell founders to “build here” while drowning them in paperwork, taxes, and approvals. Teams end up running on jugaad to survive, accumulating tech debt and compliance debt just to operate. If India actually wants to keep its best builders, we need real reform. • 10-day incorporation with guaranteed timelines • A startup-first GST regime with simplified reporting • Bank and payment systems that are digital, global, and founder-friendly • Less paperwork, more execution • Systems built for trust, not suspicion Right now, the system is optimized for control, not innovation. That needs to change. Or the next generation of great Indian companies will be built everywhere except India.

My respect for Sri Lanka went up immensely. It is not a developed western country. In fact 100 Indian Rupees gets 330 SL Rupees. You have an advantage. But the civic sense, customer service, cleanliness, driving sense... Outstanding! Even remote roads are well maintained.

Avoidable escalation! My wife placed an order and when the delivery came short, she flagged it to @zomato @zomatocare but they casually deny any issue with the order! Amount is insignificant but the way it’s handled is unacceptable. It’s not even about refund! #ScamAlert

So tried @amazonIN and @AmazonHelp's support service. More of the same runaround instead of addressing the issue. Clicking on their link simply opens a chat. One asks to close and reopen the chat and the next simply asks to initiate call back and closes the chat!

@amazonIN @AmazonHelp why aren’t you picking up the return? It’s a returnable product! We couldn’t use it so we initiated a return the same day! The pickup hasn’t happened twice! On asking the reason, I’m given a new date & the agent hangs up without explanation!

We need to pass on to future generations not only wealth, but also merit and sanskara (character). Merit comes through charity and Sanskara comes through spiritual practices. In St Louis at the NRIVA biennial convention.

I'm appalled at how #Digiyatra is unethically collecting photos for facial recognition. This was what happened at BLR T2 today... I am not registered in Digiyatra. From the first entrance they shunted me at every entrance today morning to the very last one. Each and every security person was rude. I reached the very last entry in the terminal and they shunted me again to the last queue which is for people without Digiyatra. Note the fellow wearing the green t-shirt standing in front of the security person who is checking tickets and ID. There were about 6 passengers in front of me. Whenever each passenger scans the boarding pass at the flap gate, one screen pops in front of them asking for their consent to have their photo taken. This fellow in the green t-shirt will quickly reach and click 'Yes' on the screen before the passenger knows what is happening. Photo taken and off the passenger goes into the terminal. I reached the gate and as soon as I scanned my boarding pass, I clicked 'No' on the screen before this green t-shirt fellow could react. I asked him why he is clicking the screen for people. Silence and the security guy gave me a stony stare and waved me to go in. I'm sure one day this Digiyatra is going to have it's day in court. That day they will produce all of this consent collected by fraud and say "see lots of people are OK with it, why is one minority complaining". If those who oppose want, we will give them one queue in a corner of the airport to rot. BTW, I have no problem if the Govt Of India collects this data. Not some random private Digiyatra Foundation.

I’ve never understood why we get fleeced at the airports. I got his simple dish of Rajma Chawal with a Coke for 500/- bucks. Isn’t that daylight robbery? Just because someone’s traveling by air doesn’t mean they have to be looted!

CSS Trick! ✨ You can use scroll-driven animation to highlight a "Like" button at the end of your blog posts 🫶 Kinda like that new YouTube feature 🎞️ .like { animation: shimmer; animation-timeline: view(); animation-range: entry; /* When the button enters */ } @keyframes shimmer { to { --shimmer: 1; }} The trick is using scroll-driven animations like JavaScript's IntersectionObserver. When the button enters the viewport, flip the --shimmer switch 🎚️ It triggers a chain of opacity transitions on the button parts to show and hide a gradient as it moves along 🤓 That conic-gradient sits on a pseudoelement. That pseudoelement is much larger than the button gets translated when the switch flips ✨ .like::before { transition: translate 1s; translate: calc(80% * var(--shimmer, 0)) 0; } Fun one to play with! ⚡️ @CodePen link below! 👇
