@bs4_gas @Mary_Surry There’s only a few choices if you don’t accept it - stay away, buy the club or have a good moan about it and carry on🤣 most choose the “have a moan about it” route! Look at that lot down the road - billionaire owners, sitting in mid-table, in a nice ground - still unhappy!

@bs4_gas @Mary_Surry Surely supporting Rovers comes with its ups and downs - regardless of who is charge. We are consistently inconsistent - there are more failed owners and managers than successful ones.

@cagey_optimist @financialombuds Yes. That is exactly what is happening. Less scope, less protection, same revolving door between FOS, FCA and the industry they are supposed to regulate.

Channel 4 Dispatches went undercover inside the Financial Ombudsman Service @financialombuds. What they filmed should have shut the place down. Their own staff said this on camera: "I'm not proud to admit it but I've done it myself. Just taken a chance and just slung stuff through, with any old decision." "You're more likely to meet your targets if you're not upholding them." 11,000 cases fell into a black hole for two years. Some of those letters said "I am going to lose my house." @UKParliament demanded answers. Baroness Ros Altmann called it shocking. MPs threatened a full inquiry. FOS said the footage was "not representative." Nothing changed. Fast forward to today. My own complaint against @rsagroup / @IntactInsurance is now being formally handled by Gary Smith @G8GWS of @MeridianLegals. Gary is the lawyer leading the FOS Litigation Group, a group built on over 1,000 documented FOS failures. He is preparing a judicial review of the FOS. My case has been submitted by Meridian as my regulated representative because what happened to me fits the same pattern Channel 4 filmed. If you have had a complaint dismissed by the FOS and you believe it was handled without proper scrutiny, contact Gary directly at Meridian Legal Services. 0121 516 0675 @MeridianLegals The full transcript of what @C4Dispatches filmed inside the FOS is in the comments. Read it and tell me this is not exactly what is still happening today.

Monster for justice explains the protesters will be prosecuted later down the line and their insurance will be stripped away removing their way to make a living. He then pleaded for the protest to end. Rhetoric like this will increase the protest.

For 24 years, I have run @AmaxEstates, a small independent business in #Gravesend. I’ve always paid my dues, supported the local economy and worked hard to build something sustainable. Over the past few weeks, I have been trying to resolve a serious issue with my business rates — and despite multiple emails and attempts to engage, I have received no response from @graveshambc I have been told one rateable value (£12,750) which was also confirmed over phones calls, yet billed another (£15,000), resulting in an increase from £147 per month to £642 per month — a rise of over 340% For a small business, this is simply not sustainable. I have also been unable to access the official system to challenge this before the deadline, despite repeated attempts. I am now left in a position where: • I cannot get clear answers • I cannot challenge through the system • I am facing a bill that could put a 24-year business at risk I have also contacted my local MP, @drlsullivan, and to date have received no response. This is not how small businesses should be treated. I am now working with the press to get answers — not just for myself, but because I suspect I am not the only one facing this. If you are a local business experiencing similar issues, please get in touch. This needs addressing. @VOAgovuk @HMRCgovuk @LauraTrottMP #SmallBusiness #Gravesend #BusinessRates #SupportLocal

We just rented a property for a weekend break – the owners charge me for an extra 8 hours cleaning above the standard cost. They sent me images supporting their deduction. We left it clean and tidy - ok some unwashed dishes in the sink and a bottle outside. Is this fair?

Currently sitting in Tesco car park watching multiple Asian couples stuff trolleys full of potatoes into the boots of their cars, where they will be transported to their local shops, unpackaged and sold for 5 times the price. All while hard up families miss out on these offers due to Tesco not limiting the number of items per customer. Absolute greed.

I am the VP of Workforce Economics at Oracle. We are worth $420 billion. On Tuesday, we sent 30,000 employees a termination email at 6 AM. Not 9. Not business hours. Six in the morning. They woke up to the word "eliminated." The email came from "Oracle Leadership." Not a manager. Not a name. Oracle Leadership. It said: "We are grateful for your dedication, hard work, and the impact you have made." By the time they read the word "grateful," their access to email, files, and Slack had already been revoked. The gratitude was the last Oracle communication they received. We did not eliminate the roles. We eliminated the salaries. In the same fiscal year, we filed 3,126 H-1B petitions to hire foreign workers. 436 this year alone. The roles are identical. The pay is not. An H-1B software engineer earns $87,000. The domestic median for the same work is $106,000. Eighty-three percent of H-1B workers are classified at entry-level wages for senior positions. The industry calls this a skills gap. It is a pay cut that requires a passport. The visa is tied to the employer. If the worker leaves, they lose their legal right to remain in the country. If they negotiate, they risk the same. If they organize, the sponsor declines to renew. That is retention. Our revenue this quarter is $17.2 billion. Up 22%. Net income up 95%. We have $553 billion in committed future contracts. Up 325%. These are not the numbers of a company that needs to lay anyone off. We took a $2.1 billion restructuring charge. That is the cost of the gratitude. It frees up $8 to $10 billion in annual cash flow. That cash services $156 billion in AI data centers we are building. Starting 2028, OpenAI pays us $82 million per day. Larry Ellison is worth $189 billion. He pledged $51 billion in Oracle shares as collateral for the Stargate AI venture. Announced at the White House. The stock rose 4% on Tuesday. The day of the 6 AM emails. Wall Street did not see 30,000 people. They saw the margin. Amazon laid off 30,000 since October. Filed thousands of H-1B petitions in the same window. This is not one company. This is the operating model. Fire the salary. Keep the role. Fill it with someone whose legal right to remain in the country depends on your continued sponsorship. Pay them less. They will not complain. They cannot. One employee's father worked at Oracle for 20 years. No phone call. No meeting. An email at 6 AM and a locked laptop. The role is still open. The people we fired are free. The people we hired are not.

@JayW132 If you’re living at home and working you need to save £1,000 per month - use your Lifetime ISA allowance & crack on! it’s possible - I’ve seen it done! Avoid Uni as well unless it’s a useful degree! Get an apprenticeship - even better if they offer additional qualifications!

A UK home cost £19,273 in 1980. The same home today? £301,151. The house didn't get better. Your money got worse. A generation priced out. Quietly accepted as normal.

Mine was £285 a month two years ago. Now it’s £328. He was right, it’s not a penny more, it’s £43 pounds more! We also have more pot holes, more litter, more excuses for dreadful services. I also got made redundant. Where’s the extra money in my pocket?? @Keir_Starmer @GOVUK

It’s April, so that means one thing, council tax bills have gone up across the country. Have yours? Remember when Labour promised at the election to freeze them? They LIED. “Labour would freeze your council tax” “Not a penny more on your council tax” “No ifs, no buts”

@Ed_Miliband So if I deduct 7% off of my monthly payment of £163 we’ll be all square come the end of the year? Bit like deducting the “you won’t pay a penny more in Council Tax” off this years bill and paying the same as last year! #villageidiot

From today, energy bills will fall by 7% for families across the country. We took the decision in the Budget to ask those with the broadest shoulders to pay their fair share, and today we see the result of that. Vital cost of living support delivered by this government.
