I cannot imagine the intense joy of hearing the piercing screams of the dead and maimed alike knowing one’s duty is done. A satisfaction found nowhere else but at the extremity of human existence. I only hope she was able to receive this gift before passing over into eternity.

Tim Heidecker snitched on my husband to the Feds. While not entirely out of character for an unfunny socialist like Tim, he tried to backtrack and delete his original tweet where he ID’d Jay to the FBI, only after the media ran with it and fans were being critical. It doesn’t seem like he had any remorse though, as he went on to write an article on his Substack, justifying his rat behavior because Jay was once “mean” to him at a bar like 25 years ago when Tim was still a tag-a-long newbie in LA. Nevermind that they worked together multiple times over the years after that, little Timmy doesn’t forget!

This for me is immediately disqualifying for Rahm as a serious candidate. Not bc he opposes Israel, but bc he demonstrates here either a complete lack of understanding of how this financial relationship actually works or a willingness to feign ignorance in order to spit out a popular anti-Israel talking point to gain votes. Neither option is what Americans deserve in a serious leader.

It's not only possible but necessary for someone left of center to oppose antizionism. The fact that antizionism is on the left doesn't mean someone in the same broad political camp should give it a pass. Antizionism is a left wing oppression — like Stalinism or the Khmer Rouge. Left wing people recognized those movements as oppressive and evil, just as people on the right recognize Nazism as evil. Being a left wing form of Jew hatred doesn't give antizionism a pass. Antizionism is not classical antisemitism — it is a distinct form of Jew hatred: Israel hatred. Israel hatred is wrong, and all should oppose it.

@yeselson You've rephrased it in terms I don't agree with, we have plenty of examples of countries getting away with brutal behavior with minimal foreign objections — the Israelis aren't wrong to think they are subject to disproportionate scrutiny. But they should deal with reality.

I thought of doing this but with Deadwood. I think it would actually work pretty well, 3 seasons is kind of a sweet spot for running a rotation. You wouldn't ever watch the same episode twice in one day.
