A positive signal, but not a final outcome. The push to scan private communications “for safety” isn’t going away and will likely return in another form.⚠️ This situation shows a deeper issue: privacy still depends too much on political decisions and centralized systems. Last week, our co-founder @damipator and one of our senior developers were in Nuremberg for embedded world Exhibition & Conference 2026, one of the world’s largest events dedicated to embedded systems and hardware security. They brought along a prototype we’ve been experimenting with internally and spent the week presenting it, exchanging with hardware engineers, and exploring potential collaborations. The concept is quite exciting: provable TLS sessions running directly inside ARM TrustZone secure microcontrollers. In practice, this means embedded devices that can cryptographically prove the connections they establish. That kind of capability could unlock things like community-driven oracle infrastructure, decentralized prediction markets, or peer-to-peer on-ramping systems with smartcard-level security. Still early, but the discussions in Nuremberg were very promising. Secure hardware and decentralized infrastructure are starting to meet. There’s clearly a lot to explore there.
