It is not a secret that the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has led to a surge in fuel prices worldwide. From Africa to Asia, America to Europe, fuel prices have hiked, and the commodity is getting more expensive day by day. Against this backdrop, our government, led by President @edmnangagwa, has decided to remove taxes levied on diesel and these include, excise duty, Zinara load levy, carbon tax, and strategic road levy. As a result, diesel now costs USD 2.11, and petrol is priced at USD 2.23, making our fuel relatively cheaper. Without the government's intervention, diesel could have been more expensive, thereby disrupting economic stability. This shows the benefits of having a government that advances the interests of the people, when push comes to shove, they compromise and adapt to cushion the people and mitigate economic shocks.
