@MaxBancroft2 @LBC No they aren’t. Not on the same level or even close. Islam is unique in that it seeks to control all aspects of one’s life. But even if it was true, and it isn’t, that’s not happening now. There is only one religion whose adherents are hounding teachers for showing a picture.

@MaxBancroft2 @LBC Was. It was also Christianity that laid the foundations for western civilisation. I find history fascinating but I’m concerned with what is going to happen not what has happened. And I don’t think a strong Islamic presence is compatible with the UK or western society in general.

As I wrote, Starmer has proven too weak to properly take us to war in Iran, and too weak to keep us out of it. The US are now flying bombing missions from our bases. Our airmen and women are flying intercept missions. Our soldiers are being attacked. The only thing we're not doing is actually striking back at the people firing at us.

@per_incuriam2 I'm just baffled as to what Berg thinks he has to argue here? Jones interviewed employees and reported what they said as a piece of journalism. Nowhere did Jones himself state 'Berg is a corrupt journalist', and even if he did, you're allowed to say those things within reason!

Thought the Theroux documentary on the manosphere was good at highlighting how simultaneously monstrous, pathetic, and bizarre these characters are but I do think there are times where his schtick backfire on him particularly during his last interaction with the HS guy

@LoftusSteve You mean you got outraged at something for no reason without fact checking? How about, instead of manufacturing outrage as an autopilot setting, you just...take your time to view things objectively. Happens far too often.

I made a mistake yesterday that I think others have fallen for too. The BoE is not replacing Churchill and other historical figures so not to cause offense to certain groups. The notes change every 10 years and those involved in voting chose Wildlife. That's it.

Just finished the @louistheroux manosphere doc. He definitely made them look silly at times (which isn’t hard tbf). But ultimately these guys don’t care how they come across. The clicks and attention are all they care about. What the doc never really interrogates is whether their “influence” is actually as large as people assume. My intuition is that their content is just slop for low IQ teenagers and not really that influential.

Inside the Manosphere fascinating. Kept waiting for depth or some kind of acknowledgement they were all spouting nonsense for clicks. Struck by lack of critical thinking/how vapid they all seemed to be.

@AvaSantina I think he got HS to basically admit that though right? It was obvious from what he said that it was all a grift for money. He promotes onlyfans but finds porn disgusting etc, fro HS it was all very obviously about making money not spreading the ideology of the manosphere.

Waited for some kind of Bonnie Blue acknowledgement that it was all a character created for the attention economy, but there wasn’t.

@rick666james @Johntheduncan Think people are missing the fact that this is a documentary, not a 'gotcha'. Louis never tries to make 'gotcha' pieces, but he does try to authentically show what it's like to be around these people. He just showed what actually happened and that in itself was revealing.

You are amplifying it as well and thousands of Iranians have a huge issue with it. You have retweeted a Sky News report with absolutely zero evidence other than the Islamic regime said so. If you know better - as a respected journalist - show us your concrete evidence.

It’s supremely disappointing to see this from Omid Djalili, I am 100% with him on not trusting the regime, but all the credible reporting points to this being a US strike that massacred those school girls. Wanting something to not be true is no excuse for whitewashing this.

Nothing is proved yet Zack. The fact that you are spreading misinformation is appalling for someone in your position. To date no one has been allowed to see any evidence of casualties or even the site itself. The regime says it’s America or Israel. The Americans say they were nowhere near the area. Here’s what Iranians inside Iran say: IRGC blew it up themselves to fill it up with dead bodies of children they’ve kept on ice hidden away in cold storage from the January slaughters to put on display in order to blame their aggressors. The fact that we have not seen the evidence yet is a red flag as we know the regime would have gleefully paraded those images on television and all over the internet. Most probably they were caught on film transferring the bodies hence why there is now a media black out on this story, as well as a full internet blackout. As Iranians we know how this regime operates. We’re talking about new levels of evil. So any narrative like the one you are pushing Zack actually supports the regime in their “don’t care how many die as long as we stay in power” quest.
