The European Union’s rhetoric is about sanctions against “settler violence.” The practice, apparently, is sanctions against political views that don’t conform with the EU’s own views.

Israel has stood, stands, and will continue to stand for the right of Jews to settle in the heart of our homeland. No other people in the world has such a documented and longstanding right to its land as the Jewish people have to the Land of Israel. This is a moral and historical right that has also been recognized by the law of nations, and no actor can take it away from the Jewish people. The attempt to impose political views through sanctions is unacceptable and will not succeed.

But where was this concern when Jewish babies and children were actually being attacked?
Where was it when synagogues were attacked while children were inside ? When a terrorist attacked a Jewish school full of children in the United States and tried to run people over with his car?
When a four-year-old Jewish child was assaulted in broad daylight by an antisemite? When terrorist organizations kidnapped Jewish babies? When Jewish children were targeted with ballistic missiles and drones?

Our Constitution protects it.
Since you yourself recently urged against conducting diplomacy via Twitter, I suggest that we discuss all these issues during a meeting in Israel at a time that suits you best, in order to put an end to any misinterpretations.

Antwerp Public Prosecutor’s Office announced today that it intends to refer two Jewish ritual circumcisers, known as mohels, to the correctional court.
Another red line has been crossed. This prosecution is antisemitic in nature. Not borderline, not ambiguous, but antisemitic !!!!!!!
Today it is clear exactly what we are facing. All the "beautiful words" of politicians about the importance of Jewish life in Europe mean nothing if they do not act immediately to stop this injustice.

This is a shameful stain on Belgium.
The prosecution of these religious figures (mohels), one of whom is American, is WRONG and won’t be tolerated.
Belgium will be thought of now as anti Semitic by world. Until this is resolved - there is no way around it.
The Trump Administration condemns this judicial action and also condemns the political inaction by the Belgium Government to find a solution with the beautiful Jewish communities here in Belgium.
We call upon the Belgium Government to work with the Jewish leaders and communities to find a certification solution immediately.
For the sake of Belgium’s reputation around the world, I hope the Belgian Government will act NOW.
