The more that is coming out about this “pilot rescue” — it’s looking like a massive disaster of a failed operation that the Pentagon is lying about that had nothing to do with rescuing a General.

Lost two planes to "sand" and destroyed their own helicopters. Videos show heavy clashes, missiles raining down - but not a single person got "even wounded". And the man at the center of it all? Nobody knows who he is, completely anonymous, zero pictures, but Trump says he is "SAFE and SOUND." And so is the rescued A-10 Warthog pilot, who also remains anonymous. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 A former RAF commander just broke down exactly how the rescue worked and it's incredible...
Greg Bagwell, former senior RAF commander and RUSI Distinguished Fellow, posted a thread explaining why the U.S. flew two MC-130s into a disused agricultural airstrip inside Iran instead of just sending helicopters again.
The answer: distance and risk. After the first rescue alerted Iran, a second long-range helicopter insertion was deemed too dangerous.
So they improvised.
Two MC-130s landed on a dirt strip carrying disassembled AH-6 Little Bird helicopters from the 160th Night Stalkers.
Special forces secured the perimeter.
The Little Birds were assembled on the ground in minutes, flew a short hop to the WSO's ridge, picked him up, and brought him back to the strip.
Then it went sideways. The airstrip was too soft for the heavy MC-130s to take off again.
No time to disassemble the Little Birds under threat. Commanders called in lighter C-295W aircraft to extract everyone, then destroyed both MC-130s and the Little Birds on the ground.
Over $200 million in aircraft deliberately blown up to keep them out of Iranian hands.
This was special operations at its most creative and desperate.

Right away, search and rescue teams went in: combat king tankers refueled the rescue helicopters at low altitude while A-10 Warthogs flew escort and fought off ground threats. They pulled the pilot out quickly. One rescue helicopter and one A-10 took damage, but everyone on board made it home safely. The weapons systems officer had a much tougher time. He evaded capture for over thirty six hours in the rugged mountains. Then the Night Stalkers, fresh from their recent work in Venezuela, flew in with special operations C-130s carrying Little Bird helicopters. They set up a bold forward refueling site deep inside Iran, right near the uranium facilities.
