Eric Swalwell is a completely vacant empty vessel of a human. Gavin Newsom, but with EVEN less content. Imagine voting for this dude over Matt Mahan, a Watsonville raised child of a school teacher and letter carrier, Harvard grad, teach for America teacher, who then started a software company before becoming the successful mayor of California’s third largest city. Madness. Embrace competency.
Polymarket@Polymarket

BREAKING: Eric Swalwell, who has promised to "hold Trump accountable," is now the clear frontrunner to be the next California Governor. 63% chance.

@jdcmedlock You just reinforce the existing point being made - shouldn’t blue states then be swimming in surplus with all the revenue growth? They’re not! Illinois is already insolvent and California has been running structural deficits. Blue states are hemorrhaging key taxpayers.

@LouiseKistner @Cernovich @RebelGrizzAli Total harassment in @GavinNewsom ‘s anarcho-tyranny state. He can’t manage the budget or drug addled homeless, but can harass citizens with ankle-biting infractions like no front license plates. It is ABSURD. Utah recently eliminated the need for front places 💪

My daughter got 2 parking tickets in 1 day in Malibu, because Teslas don’t have license plates in the front - which apparently is illegal in California 🙄 The rest of the family have 3 more Teslas …we’ve had Teslas the last 7 years and NOT ONCE have we been given a parking ticket for not having a license plate in front. Thank God we live in Newport Beach where the police don’t harass Tesla owners just for fun & profit!

California has installed speed cameras all over Los Angeles. People are already getting tickets. Law abiding are tracked meticulously, while druggies rule the streets. We are entering a dystopian surveillance future.

Starting in the 2027-28 school year, California will offer a new personal finance course to high schoolers and require it for graduation beginning with the 2031 class. Every Californian should leave high school with the tools to manage money, avoid debt, and build wealth.

@chamath Yeah, nice job @GavinNewsom - you’ve overseen four years of structural deficits and used Enronesque tactics to hide this fact. The @LAOEconTax said the current trends "raise serious concerns about the state's fiscal sustainability."

@JonathanTurley @lacherbauer Illinois is the only state that makes California look good by comparison. I love the irony that the University of Chicago’s storied economics department resides in such a fiscally regressive state. They are already a fiscal zombie state and will continue bleeding residents.

Chicago is following a familiar death spiral in Democratic cities. It is turning to higher taxes and greater debt as it continues to spend wildly. These politicians are doing what the Chicago fire failed to achieve: kill a major city...jonathanturley.org/2026/03/21/chi…

Why I’d live in Austin over SF any day: - Cost of living: 30-50% lower than SF, NY, LA - State income tax: 0% - A household earning $200k keeps $15-20k more per year in Texas - Oracle, Tesla, Apple, Google all moved or expanded here SF still leads in AI. But if you want to buy something, own something, and build wealth without giving it back to Uncle Sam… Austin is the most rational financial decision on the map right now. *Also fewer socialists so that’s a win.

𝗩𝗗𝗛: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. Victor Davis Hanson has spent fifty years studying how wars end. When he says the tide is turning, it's worth listening to why. His argument isn't based on what the Pentagon is saying. It's based on how everyone else is behaving. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀. VDH's rule: Europeans never agree to go anywhere near a conflict unless they think the winning side has already been determined. They didn't help in the early days. Now they're starting to move. That movement is not idealism. It's a calculation. They've looked at the battlefield and decided which way this ends. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗹𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The Saudis, the Emiratis, the Qataris — these governments have survived for generations by reading the regional climate with precision. When they expel Iranian military attachés, when they intercept Iranian missiles over their own capitals and say nothing about American strikes, when the UAE reaffirms its $1.4 trillion investment commitment to the United States mid-war — they are not making ideological statements. They are placing bets. And they are betting on the United States. 𝗔𝗹 𝗝𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗮. This is the one that should stop you cold. Al Jazeera — the Qatari state media network, historically critical of American military action, the network Tucker Carlson and the anti-war right love to cite against Israel — is now calling the U.S. bombing campaign brilliant and effective, and saying it has been underestimated. When the media outlet of a nation that hosts both the largest American air base in the Middle East and a Hamas political office starts praising American military effectiveness, the message is unmistakable: 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘯. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹. A-10 Warthogs and Apache helicopter gunships are now flying strike missions in Iranian airspace at will. VDH's point: you only deploy those aircraft when there is effectively no air defense left to threaten them. They are slow, low-flying, close-support platforms. Their presence confirms what the Pentagon has been claiming — Iran has no meaningful air defense remaining. Iran's strategy now is rope-a-dope. Run out the clock. Wait for American public opinion to shift. Hope the midterms create political pressure on Trump to stop. It is the only play they have left. VDH's conclusion: if Trump sees it through — and he believes he will — the regime falls. Not in years. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻. 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮.

@DanielNMiller @aarmlovi You don’t need a congressional hearing to understand why. My daughter’s rapidly growing start-up is moving to Austin for the same reason so many other businesses and people are leaving CA: Gross fiscal mismanagement and a myriad of governance failures. This isn’t hard!

Incredible: the @BerkeleyIGS poll on the California Voter ID initiative shows that its strongest support comes from Latinos. The more likely they are to speak Spanish the more they support it; and naturalized immigrants support it more than native-born Americans in liberal Cali.

what a beautiful, unique soulful experience late last night with this homeless man in Las Vegas. he called my name as I walked by. I was surprised so I stopped to say hello and help him out with a little cash. He told me a story how he was at the launch of the #vanhalen #1995 balance Tour in #pensacolaflorida he told me what I was wearing that night, things I said. Remembered #jonstewart introducing us. this man was intelligent, kind, spiritual, and elegant. We talked for a while, and it was enlightening for me to realize how many people like him, families, etc., that have become #homeless I can see it. I just don't know what to do about it.

@reihan @PolicyEngineer Public pension plans using Enronesque actuarial and return assumptions are weapons of math destruction. They enable the past to devour the future and will swamp any efforts at “abundance” until addressed. They are a major factor underlying blue state flight.

@sudoraohacker The rich aren’t fleeing high taxes, they are fleeing poor value propositions. Capital, both human and financial, seeks higher returns both in the private sector and when deciding where to domicile. This is called Tiebout sorting and blue states are deep into FAFO territory.

@Twolfrecovery It is actually an easy truth. The empirical evidence is overlooked by iatrogenic progressives, who are more concerned with feelings and fist derivatives than eminently predictable consequences of bad policy.
