As someone who deeply loves the U.S. military, I believe this is not what the American people want or will support. The American people value safety—but the safety of our families is not currently being threatened by Iran or other adversaries. Instead, our safety is being directly impacted by the rising cost of living, including the lack of affordable housing, inadequate public transportation, soaring grocery prices, and limited access to quality healthcare. On top of that, our political system increasingly thrives on creating divisions and fabricating crises that benefit only those at the top.
