It is the oldest surviving American fighting vessel — sailing in the Battle of Valcour Island in 1776. As the Gunboat Philadelphia turns 250 years old, preservation work is underway to ensure the boat survives another 250 years — and I got an up close look: ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…

DOJ declined to comment, but a source inside the agency confirmed there are "several" ongoing investigations allegedly stemming from a whistleblower and "local sources" dating back to 2025. They said one investigation is examining Siebel Newsom's tax records, another involves Governor Newsom's former chief of staff.

California Governor Gavin Newsom says he and his wife are being investigated by the Department of Justice. It's unclear what for - Newsom claims it's because he is "considering running for President." We have reached out to the DOJ for comment. @SpectrumNewsDC @SpecNews1SoCal

New: In the Oval Office just now, I asked President Trump if he thought the federal government should provide farmers with economic help because fertilizer prices remain so high due to the war in Iran. “I am looking at doing a form of help,” Trump told me. Last month, the president of the Kentucky Farm Bureau testified before the Senate that he would describe fertilizer pricing and availability “as a crisis right now.” Watch my full exchange with the president ⬇️

At 83, Vietnam veteran Shaun Byrnes was planning to be interned at Arlington National Cemetery when he died. But now Byrnes tells me he’s reconsidering due to President Trump’s push for a triumphal arch between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington. He and two other veterans are suing to try and stop the arch from being constructed: specne.ws/hK4Ec6

The State of Texas may soon be reimbursed for its border security costs under President Trump's major tax and spending legislation. The administration posted the grants notice and Gov. @GregAbbott_TX's Office tells me, "we are working to submit our application."

Hey there -- thanks for watching and always welcome feedback. Along with many of my colleagues, I was on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, 2021 to cover the election certification. Was reporting from the Cannon House Office Building before we got evacuated because of a bomb threat. We then got moved to the Longworth House Office Building and ended up getting locked in a hallway for ~4 hours as the violence played out. I filmed injured police officers being escorted past me, lawmakers with gas masks on getting evacuated, and very stressed out law enforcement officers and (eventually) National Guard troops responding to a very chaotic scene. Outside, some of my colleagues had their camera gear destroyed by part of the mob. The morning after, I returned to the Hill and photographed some of the ~$3 million in damage done to the Capitol Building. I then spent the rest of 2021 and much of 2022 covering the investigations into the attack and what happened both before and after it. I've interviewed numerous members of Congress, Hill staffers, and responding officers about their experiences. I've also interviewed dozens of voters across the country about their perceptions of that day, including two who were part of the broader crowd that showed up outside the Capitol. All to say, I know a good deal about Jan. 6. I'll always be grateful I wasn't injured that day. And I'll always be thankful for the police officers who fought to re-secure the complex and allow Congress to return to session.

Scoop: EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin will appear alongside Congressman Mike Lawler, who is seeking reelection, in the Hudson Valley this Sunday. The joint EPA event comes roughly two weeks after President Donald Trump campaigned with Lawler in Rockland County. Lawler’s district is regarded as one of the most competitive swing districts in the country. Zeldin's appearance with Lawler is part of a several-day trip Zeldin is taking through his home state of New York. On Friday, Zeldin will make appearances on Long Island. On Monday, he will stop in Binghamton and Syracuse.
