A doctor recently claimed creatine is “killing you.” The argument was that creatine suppresses AGAT, disrupts arginine and glycine metabolism, sabotages the urea cycle, builds ammonia, depletes ornithine, raises urea, and damages kidneys. Another creator who is very well known here then used negative comment screenshots as proof that creatine is not safe. Both arguments sound convincing if you do not slow down. Both need to be taken apart 🧵

It’s hilarious how many people assume biology works in a simple linear way, as if targeting one major driver of plaque buildup, like LDL, automatically makes every other mechanism irrelevant and “cures” heart disease In reality, atherosclerosis is driven by multiple interacting processes, including lipid retention, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, immune activation, and plaque instability It definitely helps because these drugs are effective but they aren't magic

Eli Lilly has done it. They've gone and made what seems to be a powerful, permanent gene therapy for LDL cholesterol. That means they'll be able to effectively prevent most heart disease with a single infusion!

I have one tiny detail for you that changes the entire MTHFR conversation: MTHFR is a flavin-dependent enzyme... That means vitamin B2 has more significance than most realize. B2/riboflavin gets converted into FAD, and FAD is the cofactor MTHFR uses to function. This is important to understand because MTHFR helps convert folate into 5-MTHF. 5-MTHF then helps recycle homocysteine back into methionine. Methionine can then be used to make SAMe, one of the body’s major methyl donors. So when someone says they have “methylation issues,” B2 status is absolutely something that should be assessed. Especially when the pattern looks like: - Elevated homocysteine - MTHFR C677T, especially TT - Poor response to methylfolate - Low overall B-vitamin intake - Gut issues or poor absorption - A methylation protocol that looks good on paper but does not move the needle Human research has even connected lower riboflavin status with higher homocysteine. The bottom line is we cannot keep playing Russian roulette with our B vitamins if we are subject to methylation issues. And Vitamin B2/riboflavin is an important part of that story.

Bifidobacteria are the type of gut bacteria you actually want to make comfortable. They are heavily involved in the gut environment, bowel regularity, gut barrier support, and immune signaling. A large percentage of immune activity is happening in and around the gut, and the bacteria living there help shape that existing terrain. So when bifidobacteria are low, the gut environment can become less resilient. The practical thing to consider is pretty simple when it comes to optimizing bifido status: Bifidobacteria grow better when you feed them the right fibers and plant compounds. Some of the best foods for this include: - Onions - Garlic - Leeks - Asparagus - Jerusalem artichoke - Chicory root - Green bananas - Oats - Apples - Pears - Beans - Lentils - Chickpeas - Cooked and cooled potatoes - Cooked and cooled rice - Berries - Cocoa These foods contain things like inulin, FOS, GOS, resistant starch, pectin, and polyphenols. The thing to know here is that you do not fully digest all of those compounds yourself. A lot of them make it farther down the digestive tract, where beneficial bacteria can ferment them. That fermentation process helps produce compounds that support a healthier gut environment. This is why I don’t love the idea of only thinking about “gut protocols" as if they are some blueprint that will get your gut to the exact state it needs to be in. Your gut is an ecosystem, and ecosystems respond to what gets added every day. If your gut is sensitive to fiber, start slow. You may need to even potentially investigate if there is some work that needs to be done to improve tolerance to these foods. A little cooked and cooled potato, a few bites of lentils, some berries, or a small amount of green banana flour may be plenty at first. That said, the goal is not to force as much fiber as possible. The goal should be to feed the bacteria you want more of without overwhelming the system you’re trying to improve. Bifidobacteria are very important for the gut, and one of the simplest ways to support them is to consistently eat the foods they know how to use.

There is too much dark energy coming out in movies. You can tell me these horror movies, often torture porn, are cheap to make. Which contributes. But it’s the market for this stuff that is disturbing. Even if cheap, few would be made of not for demand. It’s a problem.

I went to the doctor asking for blood tests, as I’ve been experiencing some minor MCAS and histamine issues. She denied certain tests because she “didn’t think they were necessary,” prescribed me Prednisone, and sent me on my way. I said I didn’t want to be taking steroids and she ignored me, told me to just take it, and explained none of the side effects, which can potentially be very severe and long lasting. Absolutely insane. This was a great reminder of how important it is to take your health into your own hands and do your own research.

I once went to an obese doctor and my ferritin was over 600. I asked if we could check for hemochromatosis They look at me like I was on drugs and questioned why they would do that. Refused to do it no matter how many pieces of evidence I gave her (ferritin >650, low TIBC, high % saturation, etc) Anyways, I ended up buying a test on my own and sure enough had the genes for hemochromatosis. This doctor was not just terrible at her job. In addition to this, she was a terrible role model for health, didn’t understand blood chemistry well enough to order further testing, and was likely so burnt out from medical school that she did not know how to do anything but follow a prescription algorithm. With all that said, my real problem stems from the fact that when a doctor tells you they don’t know how to help you, many of them (not all) act as if nobody in the entire world is capable of doing so. Either they can or nobody can. Whether they realize it or not, it’s this aspect of the modern system that subconsciously motivates many to reduce their own responsibility for their health. Why even try if the expert says there’s not much you can do?

@Cytochromic @TheRawSol There is indeed a lot of BS out there! There are even some who believe that viruses straight up don’t exist to put things in perspective😭 I was very lucky to have an exceptional mentor at the time when all of this went down!
