@cinemattie When I was in kindergarten it was the 1987 I believe my teacher said Indian style so probably in the 90s they changed it to applesauce

Saw a bunch of people on Facebook today upset over calling sitting cross legged "criss cross applesauce" instead of "Indian style." And like...where have y'all been? Teachers have been calling it criss cross applesauce for nearly 30 years. This is not a new development.

Happy to report we have a box set of the classic Nancy Drew books, with the original 1930s text restored, coming out this Christmas

@herandrews @PassagePress I discovered a similar washing in Nancy Drew’s 1950’s yellow books over the original 1930’s editions. I coveted my yellow versions until I read a few originals. I now covet those; Nancy is spicier, settings are detailed and characters are built, not described.

I’m convinced some people forget that babies are… babies. They don’t have mute buttons, and they definitely don’t know how to “keep it down.”
I went to a car seat safety class yesterday, just trying to do the responsible parent thing. My baby was sitting there, babbling softly, not crying, not screaming, just making little sounds like babies do. Nothing disruptive.
Then the instructor stops and says, “Can you quiet him down?” I paused, because… what?

I wonder how much the "geriatric pregnancy" conversation contributes to birth rate decline. Just read a post from a woman who wants another baby but is wondering if she should stop because she's 36 and "geriatric." No underlying health conditions. Uncomplicated pregnancies and births. Have another baby, girl!

I remember when my little girl was about 7 years old we took her to a new dentist & they told us we weren’t allowed back in the room with her. I asked them why in the world wouldn’t I be allowed to come back with my small child? They said they just didn’t have much room in the exam rooms so I offered to just stand right at the doorway which they said no to. I said to cancel the appointment then & they shamed me loudly in the waiting room saying how this was *highly unusual* for someone to refuse the appointment. I didn’t care. How any parent would allow this risk with a small child is beyond me. I just knew it wasn’t happening with MY child.

THIS IS HORIFFIC!! Paediatrician Earl Bradley raped and sexually abused 103 children, including babies as young as three months old, while their parents waited just outside the exam room. The Delaware doctor filmed himself carrying out the sickening attacks on hidden cameras. He would force the terrified children to perform sex acts on him, molest them repeatedly, and sometimes abuse the same child for months or even years. One victim was raped continuously from June 2007 to February 2009. Another was molested non-stop from November 2008 to November 2009. Over 13 hours of horrifying video evidence was later discovered. He has been jailed for 14 consecutive life sentences plus 165 years. This is one of the worst stories I've ever read

@JulieLovesFluff The capacity is there for a reason (even if you don’t agree). Could be a zoning issue - or simply the preference of the homeowner. To be fair - the owner should have reached out sooner but if their policy is max 8 (which is very reasonable) - but be prepared to leave.

We got to our Airbnb at midnight and apparently got a message from the owners at 12:30 am that we didn't see until this morning. They're saying we're over capacity even though we booked for 2 adults and 10 kids in this 4 bedroom house. They said the capacity is 8 even though that's not on the listing and they assumed our booking of 10 kids was a typo because when they messaged to ask if it was a family or unrelated people when we booked we said family and they assumed no families have ten kids. 🙃 My husband is meeting with the guy to talk, happy vacation y'all!

It is not celiac. There are theories about why people feel better and sometimes tests. Does it matter? If you are healthier?

My 4 month old literally grabbed a knife tonight when we were eating steak, and kept grabbing at my plate. He REALLY wanted food. (he was sitting on my lap - this really happened lol)
I will probably stop breastfeeding him around 6 or 7 months because this baby straight up just wants food 😂😂😂
