You don’t have to choose the same level of freedom I do as an onchain investor, but you sure as hell deserve the freedom to permissionlessly access programmable apps that run trustlessly on the world ledger that is Ethereum.

Kids traded for Discord Nitro trials. An 11-year-old sold for crypto. All happening while Roblox banks 30% on every transaction.
One YouTuber - Schlep, himself a former Roblox grooming victim - catches predators, gets 6 arrests.
Roblox's response? Cease-and-desist letter, platform ban, press release calling vigilantes the problem.
The math is simple: moderation costs money. Predators generate traffic.
Traffic generates transactions. Transactions generate 30% commissions. The incentive structure is a death trap.
This isn't negligence - it's a business model. They could deploy AI to catch "pedophile rapist" usernames (even misspelled). They won't.
They could ban servers with 764 imagery. They don't.
They could thank the guy getting arrests. Instead they sued him.
Every Robux card bought at Target funds the infrastructure. Every parent who knows and keeps paying is complicit.
The platform's message is clear: profit trumps kids. Every single time.

🇺🇸 ROBLOX’S NEW SAFETY PLAN? FACIAL RECOGNITION FOR KIDS Roblox will soon require users to take selfies so it can guess their age using facial recognition before they’re allowed to chat with others. The goal is to stop adults from chatting with kids, especially after lawsuits and global criticism over child safety on the platform. Users will be grouped by age ranges like 9–12 or 13–15 and can only chat within those brackets. It rolls out in Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands in December, with more countries getting it in January. The move is already raising privacy concerns since it involves kids uploading biometric data. Using facial recognition on children to protect them might end up creating a whole new set of risks. When you understand Ethereum you realize nothing in crypto is close.
Other chains are chasing slot times and TPS.

He is completely correct here... the value of tokens at this point in time is based on expected future speculation - not utility. He is building Ripple, and has a very reasonable and pragmatic view that many of you seem to find offensive when articulated by me.

Stablecoin: gateway to ETH.
This is a great thread - please read. While I agree a lot with this thread, I have some disagreement on the end state.
1) Stablecoins present counter-sovereignty risk for countries. In Russia if most people hold usdc most of your populace balance can be wiped to zero by an adverse US. No sovereign nation will want to give this power and leverage out. This is far more risky than holding usd as reserve asset as a country can curate its books and risk carefully in a way citizens can’t.
2) Therefore usd stables will be highly regulated by other countries. There are on / off ramp regulation levers that can be activated.
3) local / locally regulated stables will dominate local volume in each country,
4) Stablecoins are going to create the perfect conditions under which fully onchain and programmable money like ETH will take off. Having understood the risks of stables, people will exit to ETH / BTC rather than to usdt.
So agree with the high level of the thread but differ in “exit to usd” instead it will be “exit to ETH”.

Purchasing so much ETH at current price right before ETH will start living above $10k is impressive. I wish we would see this activity reflected in the price a bit more by now though.

I’ve been doing some research on $BMNR which is a $ETH treasury with @fundstrat as chairman.
There are many interesting things about this company, but here’s one thing in particular that I see commonly mistaken.
Some investors steer clear of $BMNR because it is dilutive to shareholders.
Well as Tom Lee explains to @amitisinvesting below, $BMNR is actually the opposite of dilutive, since they are constantly increasing $ETH per share, and only issuing shares when they are trading above mNAV.
Another thing particularly interesting is that Tom Lee says that $BMNR can currently stake their ~$9B of $ETH and earn ~$300M of net income. And since $BMNR is about 1/3 of the way to their 5% goal, that would be around ~$1B of net income for $BMNR once they hit that 5% goal just by staking their $ETH.
