@UmaruFofana @BBCAfrica Sierra Leone is on target to eliminate elephantiasis nationwide by 2030. The limited but diminishing transmission of the disease in one cross-border district highlights the importance of cross-border collaborations in the Mono River Union countries. Together we can beat NTDs.

#SierraLeone is said to be on the verge of eliminating elephantiasis. Transmission remains in only 1 of the country’s 16 districts. Ahead of NTDs Day on 30/1/23, I went to find out about the life of those living with the disease & why it persists in Bombali District. @BBCAfrica
