Maybe the same but with two guys who look like Secret Service escorting a generic old white guy. Just come, sit through the eulogy, leave abruptly.

Powerful, accurate words. Worth the long (by X standards) read.

The lesson from this mass crash out is quite simple. Do not pander to Libertarians, ever. These people cannot be satiated in any way and there is no point in ever trying to court them. The moment you do, they begin to act like they own you. They have no sense of courtesy, no sense of loyalty, and regularly treat their own “allies” worse than they do their stated enemies. These people will genuinely take someone who agrees with them 80% of the time, and abuse them to no end even as they lavish praise upon someone who agrees with them just 20% of the time. It is preferable to simply be their enemy right from the start than it is to try and win them over. Don’t give these people the option to be on your side. Force them to become Democrats like they’ve always wanted to be. They’ll destroy the Dems from within anyway because Libertarianism is an inherently anti-political ideology that has no idea how to seize power and wield it. There are some with a libertarian-ish mindset who genuinely hate Progressive managerialism, central banking, and the Federal administrative state. These people are friends, not enemies. The problem isn’t with each and every person who may call themselves a “libertarian” or a “liberty-minded conservative”. The problem is with Libertarianism as a governing philosophy. It is useful as an acid and little more. Libertarianism can dissolve power, but it cannot build a lasting political order. We are entering an age where order must be reestablished. And this makes Libertarianism not only incompatible with the Right, but actually antagonistic.

Massie votes against border control and funding ICE. People in his district overwhelming supported those things and booted his ass out. And now all the groypers are shouting TEH JOOOOZ. Ye gods, find a new schtick. We get it: You hate Jews. No need to keep beating that brown-shirted dead horse any more.

@keithellison @msmandijung Fun fact: Minneapolis now spends more per student than annual tuition at the University of Minnesota, yet trails Mississippi in 4th and 8th grade reading and math scores. Yes. Mississippi.

"Because the Justices used social science (the infamous doll study) to strike down racial segregation in schools in Brown, rather than on an equal protection clause basis, SCOTUS delayed striking down anti-miscegenation laws until 1967, another disgraceful episode"
Mark Paoletta@MarkPaoletta

Justice Clarence Thomas took a blowtorch to the 8 Supreme Court Justices who established the despicable “separate but equal” doctrine in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896 that sanctioned racial segregation. Justice Thomas says they acted with “cowardice.” “It could not have taken my Court sixty years to know that Plessy was a hideous wrong and that racial segregation was grossly incompatible with our colorblind Constitution. The Justices must have known it all along. The right thing to do, as Justice Harlan spelled out in his lone dissent at the time, was obvious as it so often is. What stood in the way was cowardice. The Justices were afraid of the societal consequences. They were afraid of coming under political fire. They were afraid that, if they began to enforce a colorblind Constitution, they would have to address interracial marriage next. So, for sixty disgraceful years, they made American children like me grow in racial caste system because it was easier to do nothing than do the right thing.” ------ Because the Justices used social science (the infamous doll study) to strike down racial segregation in schools in Brown, rather than on an equal protection clause basis, the Court delayed striking down anti-miscegenation laws until 1967, another disgraceful episode. THAT is why Justice Thomas has criticized Brown. In his view, the Supreme Court should have struck down those disgraceful laws on equal protection grounds, echoing the Declaration’s promise that all men are created equal. In Justice Thomas’s view, the Justices hid behind social science out of fear of reaffirming the simple truth that all men are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights. This is why Justice Thomas does not give a damn about judicial precedent. He has personally felt the lash of a barbaric ruling and there was no reason whatsoever to give it any deference. And he believes there are many cases like this. Justice Thomas’s courage to take as his guiding light the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution without any regard to the barnacles that have attached to these documents is why he is our nation’s greatest Justice. The speech is titled “Remarks on the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence,” delivered at @UTAustin on April 15, 2026. (link below to full speech)

I don't really care if the security guard was an ignorant anti-Semite or that the leaders of this particular Mosque have a history of embracing extremism. There were kids inside, so I am thankful he acted to stop the shooters. This targeted attack was an act of terrorism. Something we can't accept in America. It was wrong when an Islamist extremist targeted a synagogue/school in Michigan a few months ago, and just as wrong today when these two lunatics targeted a Mosque/school. Parents shouldn't fear that kids going to school or families going to worship might not come home. Such places shouldn't need constant security. The normalization of such evil and hate only ensures further violence. Everything else is a different discussion.

Sikhs can carry a dagger by law because it is ‘religious’. Meanwhile, our Women can’t even carry pepper spray to protect themselves against a potential attack. Why do stupid religious practices matter more than Women’s safety?
