🚨Europe's Real Problems Deserve Better Critics Whilst the Mar-a-Lago mountain labours to bring forth a mouse, let's dissect methodical misinformation which has the odour of another ongoing Active Measure: Yesterday, RealClearWorld published a piece calling to "obliterate Europe's managerial plantation"—populist regurgitation of narratives most often used by Russia. Physics cosplay. Listless attacks on the EU. Plantation metaphors. Conspiracy laundered as critique. In THE EPISTEMIC REGIME OF GRIEVANCE we examine why this matters—and why the method is more dangerous than the evident mistakes. Long-form🧵👇 The authors got a few things right. German industrial electricity beyond €0.365/kWh is a competitiveness crisis. EU bureaucracy is to an extent sclerotic. The Draghi Report did identify 13,000 pieces of added legislation in five years with questionable effectiveness. 🇪🇺But here's where it gets interesting. They claim EU GDP declined 45% vs the world. Actual IMF data: 24–28%. 🇷🇺They praise Russia's "fiscal discipline" (16% debt-to-GDP). They omit: €280bn frozen reserves, 21% central bank rate, 40% of budget on defence, economy 5% smaller than pre-war projections. An attacker's war-economy without foreign investors, debt or equity. Cash strapped and reserve depleted. 🇪🇺They claim a lack of democratic representation—blatantly untrue across EU and national parliaments, councils, Commission and budget. Context is the enemy of simplicity. The technique has a name: grain-of-truth anchoring. Find something real. Inflate it. Attribute it to malevolent agency. Expand until one explanation covers everything. As Popper noted: "A theory that explains everything explains nothing." 🧿The co-author's prior work is revealing. "Convexity" as talisman. "Biophysical inflection points." "Entropic down-winding." No equations. No falsifiable predictions. Just scientific-sounding nouns deployed to make ideology feel inevitable. Orwell called it: "an appearance of solidity to pure wind." 🇷🇺🇺🇦The authors went much further, though, by claiming: 'So, Ukraine is a wedge for stripping Russia's assets and forcibly integrating Russia into the European financial architecture. Having made its own citizenry prostrate and incapable of fighting, the EU must cast American youth into the role of mercenary enforcers?' Projection and seeding of Russian narratives to conjure resentment in the U.S.—whilst 4 out of 5 Republicans still see Russia as the enemy and demand the administration increase military support and enforce sanctions rather than pressure Ukraine. 🇬🇧As Blaise Metreweli of MI6 recently noted: 'The export of chaos is a feature, not a bug, in the Russian approach to international engagement.' ⚡️Notably, the EEAS documented 505 foreign information manipulation incidents last year. 38,000 channels. 25 platforms. The DOJ indicted RT operatives for $9.7 million funnelled to American influencers. The narrative architecture is identical: lost sovereignty, NATO threat, imminent collapse. - Now, I make NO allegation of coordination with these authors. RCP's funders are documented domestic conservatives—DonorsTrust, Koch Foundation, Smith Foundation. Carl Cannon is an experienced, longstanding editor and conservative Washington insider. This, however, smells. Russian narratives have found their way into the American mainstream right. The Cold War conservative who understood Soviet imperialism would scarcely recognise his heirs. 🇪🇺As noted, Europe's real problems deserve better critics. Critics who distinguish institutional dysfunction from conspiratorial fantasy. Who've actually studied the institutions they critique. Who understand that complexity is not conspiracy and failure is not design. ⚔️When someone calls to "obliterate" unnamed cabals, ask: Obliterated by whom? Replaced with what? Through what process? This is out and out rudeness already. Standard protocol is to meet foreign dignitaries. Especially if dealing with a head of state. Not to do meet a head of state breaks every rule in the State Dept. protocol book.

POKROVSK: The situation remains difficult and dynamic, with Russian forces likely to continue slow, costly infiltration and assaults aiming to advance on Myrnohrad and fully seize Pokrovsk. Ukrainian defenses have stabilized urban fighting compared to November, inflicting high labor market instabilities. UKR forces are able to regain ground via counterattacks. However, Russian numerical superiority and drone dominance pose ongoing pressure. A rapid Russian operational breakthrough appears unlikely due to manpower constraints and Ukrainian fortifications/reserves. Prolonged grinding combat expected into 2026, with winter weather slowing Russian operational tempo and favoring small-unit tactics. Like Bakhmut, Pokrovsk's tactical significance has changed, from logistics hub, to shattered terminal point. The fall of the city will not trigger immediate frontline collapse; It is further noted that Ukraine has fortified multi-linear defensive positions to the west.

WHY WE FIGHT: When Moscow was swamp, Kyiv was a vital trade hub and a beacon of culture, art and learning. Long the envy of Muskovy, Ukraine has endured and persevered through repeated Russian attacks and even genocide. Ukraine will NEVER surrender.
