The violent snatching of Doug Coltart’s phone at the City Sports Centre today constitutes the serious crime of robbery and must be pursued as such. A person convicted of robbery can be imprisoned for life. I hope Doug Coltart presses the correct charge. If the state does not pitch in, he must push for a private prosecution. He claims the length of a term isn't limited, yet accepts two terms as a term limit. 1. How can two terms of an unknown, unlimited term be a limit? 2. Legally, a term limit consists of a previously agreed, codified term length and number of terms. Our term limit is two terms of five years each. This is codified in our constitution, electoral act and practice. 3. This is why ZANU PF's Bill states that it seeks to amend the constitution to extend the President's and Parliament's term from five to seven years. If terms aren't limited, why amend? 4. Why seek legal right to change a term from five to seven years if the constitution doesn't limit terms to five years? Why can't ZANU PF extend the term without a Bill if the term isn't limited? 5. Why does the President call elections every five years, and Parliament devolves every five years if five years isn't a term limit? 6. How can two terms be a term limit without agreement on what constitutes a term?

This is the current state of the highly publicised Zim Cyber City project in Mount Hampden, which was officially launched in July 2022. Construction at the site was expected to begin in 2022 as part of a US$500 million development funded by a Dubai-based investor, with Paul Tungwarara involved in the project. The project was planned to be completed in phases over about three years. Some sections were expected to be ready between 2024 and 2025. The project was meant to include modern buildings such as apartments, offices, shops and hotels, forming part of a much larger new capital city plan estimated at up to US$60 billion. However, despite these plans, there is still very little to show on the ground. So far, only a few small buildings have been constructed, and most of the major structures that were promised have not yet been built.
