The National Workshop on YES-TECH (Yield Estimation System based on Technology) commenced today, 15 July 2025, at IIRS, Dehradun, and will continue through 16 July 2025. The workshop begins with a welcome address by Ms. Shefali Agarwal, Group Director, IIRS, and opening remarks by Smt. Kamna Sharma, Additional Commissioner (Crop Insurance), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The workshop brings together key stakeholders from Central and State Governments, Insurance Companies, MNCFC, and technology partners including MITRs (Mentor Institutes for Technology Rollout) and TIPs (Technology Implementation Partners). The focus is on reviewing implementation progress and integrating feedback on Yes-Tech, which has already been piloted over three crop seasons across several states. Day 1 featured engaging presentations by States and TIPs, with sessions chaired and moderated by experts from SAC-ISRO, NRSC, IIRS and IARI.
