To set the record straight, only two opposition MPs support the sovereignty bill, and both are from the Lango sub-region. These are Hon. Alum Santa Sandra Ogwang, the UPC Party Whip and Oyam District Woman MP, and Hon. Okot Moses Junior Bitek of FDC, who represents Kioga County in Amolatar District.
Hon. Alum Santa was re-elected for a fourth term, while Hon. Okot Bitek is a one-term MP who lost his seat to a young UPC candidate, Colline Angwech.

President @HEBobiwine is having a chat right now with students at Columbia University, New York. The conversation is being moderated by Anselm Besigye, son to Dr. Kizza Besigye and one of the most, MOST brilliant young Ugandan men of his generation!

The @NUP_Ug Eastern Regional Head Office has been surrounded and sealed off by the police to block our meeting with elected leaders from the Region, scheduled for today. They say we need permission from the IGP to hold a meeting at our office😡

Earlier today, @GodwinTOKO @PhillipKarugaba, our friend Elly and myself went to Luzira prison to visit the comrades there.@kizzabesigye1 is in much better health and back to his usual high spirits, Hajji Lutale is also in high spirits, @eddie_mutwe was the jolliest and very happy to see us, @AMufumbiro is still in a somber mood but strong, Bobi Young is asking that we don’t forget him. That we should at least push for him to appear in court. He is frustrated that he hasn’t been in Court for 2 years and nothing has changed since the Supreme Court’s decision in Jan 2025 that civilians shouldn’t be tried in military courts. Coincidentally, I received a call from Yasin Ssekitoleko in Kitalya asking about the same- their fate, since they were neither transferred to civilian courts nor continued appearing in the court martial. But they send you greetings and say the best way to support them is to keep fighting for a better Uganda

This morning, we were back at Butambala Chief Magistrate’s Court regarding the case against NUP Deputy president (Buganda) Hon Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi and others.
The prosecution side failed to present committal papers as earlier expected, indicating that the case file had been called by the office of the DPP.
It is clear they have no evidence to support their wild allegations against the accused persons, hence the ping-pong!

I still vividly remember the moment everything I had built over the years collapsed. The day every part of my life fell apart simultaneously.
My life got formatted and everything that I had carefully crafted just crumbled before my own eyes. A fundamental reconstruction, a total overhaul of everything I knew happened in the blink of an eye. In that moment, everything I had built my identity on melted through my fingers. My soul died!
For three months, I have been facing the chaos of transformation. This has not happened in isolation. I have experienced unconditional love, and unreserved support. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and can’t seem to know who I am anymore! The bitter/sweet part of all this is that I will never be the same again. I have experienced pure sisterhood and I got to experience firsthand the true meaning of unreserved support. In the chaos of fundamental change, I have learnt to love more and in many aspects, I am different.

Eddie Mutwe, just like any other parent, would be attending church today with his family, but he is in prison for crimes he never committed.
He deserves to be with his family, NOT behind bars just like any other political prisoner.
