One of @Abdirahmanirro biggest mistakes so far has been appointing @majgalaal as ambassador to one of our most important allies. He is antisemitic, anti-Somaliland, and anti-Taiwan. On his X profile, he has yet to congratulate or celebrate the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland.
He previously failed as ambassador to Ethiopia under the former government and was dismissed. He also holds the view that recognition by Israel is a waste of time, likely influenced by his direct superior, Hersi, and his affiliations with Ictisaam. He has even claimed that recognition from Ethiopia would be no different from a city in the UK recognising a country, which is incorrect.
His time in Taiwan has been an abject failure, and he is now back in Somaliland alongside corrupt businessmen, seeking to sell the country’s minerals for his own benefit and that of his associates.

Conflict in the Eastern border of Somaliland with Somalia is entirely driven by the unsettled status of Somaliland with the added complexity of proxies backed by external entities including China and Somalia. Until that is resolved and the border issue is put to bed, “peace” will remain a fools errand. What must be resolved and through strength is the aggression against the existence of the state of the republic of Somaliland. Unless minority clans in the area accept they are Somalilanders within the confines of Somaliland’s internationally recognised borders per 1960s, which remain legal, then I see no cause in pursuing this show piece dressed in white robes called “peace”. Mind you, the whole exercise might be useful if it buys the state time to organise its military and confront the problem makers one at a time. Appeasement is how Ukraine ended up being engulfed in a state of conflict. Putting the cart before the horse is what is happening here.

According to @somalilandmfa, there are 23 Somaliland missions abroad. But who are they, and what do they do? Most seem to exist only on paper, over 90% have no Twitter presence. Somaliland should cut this down to 10 key missions and stop the waste.
