6/8 @ 2:15pm: We've received several recent reports of shaking across Southwestern Florida within the past 30 minutes. An earthquake has occurred just west of Cuba in the southern Gulf. @USGS_Quakes has since revised the magnitude down to a 6.1 at a depth of 10km.

Did you just feel an earthquake Florida??? Holy crap we just did on our ship. Literally we were on top of this earthquake just now. Everything shook. Panic definitely was in the air. Thought we lost a motor. 6.1+ magnitude reported as of now. Craziest thing ever experienced no doubt.

I flew on the Dash 8 Q400 for a domestic flight. Incredibly capable, but definitely louder in the cabin than most jet engine aircraft! For avgeeks, the best seats are towards the rear—you get a fantastic view of the landing gear retracting after takeoff and extending again on approach. I recorded this takeoff, and it was absolutely amazing!

Staff covered the mother with a bedsheet, coned off four parking spaces, and gave her fresh water and food. The Lesser Black-backed Gull, which is said to nest in the same spot of the supermarket’s carpark each year, is being well-looked after in this heatwave. Well done @Morrisons 👏.
