@GarnetandGolddd @llandy420 @CFBKings Nah. I’m asking by what legal mechanism he intends to threaten school’s funding. He can’t do it arbitrarily—funds can only be taken under certain legal frameworks, which the EO doesn’t provide. So it does… nothing? Signals congress to start working on the bill? What’s the goal?

President Trump has officially signed an executive order to bring back some structure to college sports. The executive order’s key directives: • 5 years to play 5 seasons • One free transfer for everyone • A second transfer would result in an automatic redshirt

@GarnetandGolddd @llandy420 @CFBKings By what legal mechanism can he withhold legally appropriated funds from qualifying universities who do not violate federal law? When he did this last time, he used the ICA (with congressional approval) and discrimination laws (Title VI and XI) as the cover for withholding funds.

@llandy420 @CFBKings Oooof. He didn’t write an EO for the NCAA. He wrote it for the schools receiving funding. Reading isn’t your thing huh? Expected from a Miami fan who didn’t go to Miami.

@emberambience @ModestTeacher Who taught the police? Who taught the EMS? You use teachers every time they’re teaching others around you. This is what it means to live in a society and have public services.

@ZacharyGarris Hey, quick question for this analogy: Prior to the break in, did I have a legal contract written into the deed of the house (which I can’t arbitrarily change) that says anyone born in my house gets my last name and requires I pay their schooling and medical expenses?

Imagine your neighbor’s pregnant wife breaks into your home while you’re on vacation and has the baby. You then agree to the parents’ request that the child takes your last name, and you promise to pay for his school and medical expenses. That’s birthright citizenship.

@Based_Atheist @ItIsMeCecily @esjesjesj DEI was literally invented because less qualified white men were getting access to opportunities over literally everyone else, despite everyone else being as or more qualified. White women were the biggest beneficiaries of DEI policies. DEI was all being qualified.

@teuonn @raynisakitty @CoreyB08 There is no distinction between ceremonial law, judicial law, and moral law in the texts. That’s something being read into the texts. When people read into Matthew 5:17 as “completing,” they misunderstand plerōsai as doing away with instead of performing to its full capacity.

@raynisakitty @CoreyB08 Not meaningless. Ceremonial law was used before Jesus was born so those could signify atonement for sin. Once Jesus arrives and dies as a sacrifice for humanity’s sin he fulfills that atonement more than any ceremonial law. Therefore they are not necessary today to atone for sin.

Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Guys we should be putting someone people to death….I mean it’s the Bible. If he came in requesting everyone who works on the Sabbath be killed it’s all good right, because it’s in the Bible

@WillyDiBa7 @TazaValo @Krtzyy Matthew Shepherd was murdered in 1998. It was a crime to be homosexual in 19 states until 2003. Gay couples were denied the right to marry in 14 states until 2015. Conversion therapy, including faradic aversion therapy, is still legal. It’s more than “some people don’t like you.”

No, they aren’t going around calling for the mass murder of the lgbt community lol. I’d accept that they don’t want people to be gay, but either way, they can’t do anything about that, so why the gays get so bothered or consider this “denouncing their existence” is nuts to me. No matter who you are in the world there will be people that don’t like things that make you happy, and don’t like you for it, that’s just a part of life.

@sleeknub @the_transit_guy I suppose I overstated it by saying “everywhere.” I meant every state. Washington had the highest state minimum wage in 2015–$9.47/hr. Some *cities* had higher wages (Chicago was $10, DC was $10.50, Seattle was $11.00. San Fran and Oakland were the absolute highest at $12.25).

@Myc_W @the_transit_guy Minimum wage wasn’t sub-$10 everywhere in 2015. That’s exactly when they started showing up in my area, right after a significant minimum wage increase.

@sleeknub @the_transit_guy They started experimenting with kiosks in 2003 (when min wage was $5.15, $7.16 in the highest state), and committed to putting them in ALL locations in 2015, when min wage everywhere was sub-$10/hr. Reducing labor force was always the plan. Minimum wage had nothing to do with it.

@Myc_W @the_transit_guy They started rolling them out in places with high minimum wages when those wages were increased significantly. Yes, when they have already paid all the money to implement the system they of course will roll it out to other locations as the marginal cost at that point is low.

@sleeknub @the_transit_guy McDonald’s has been rolling out kiosks for two decades and they’ve been fully implemented everywhere in the US for more than a decade. My state still has a minimum wage of $7.25/hour and every McDonald’s has self-service kiosks as the primary point of contact.

@RossSchumann @_6signxxx The OP’s point was nurses, as a whole, are underpaid based on their demand and value. You used AI (poorly) to suggest… what? That some of them get paid? That 1.5% of nurses deserve to be compensated well? The supply of nurses is critically low. Yet compensation doesn’t match.

Yes, you know that age old thing, called supply and demand... When the demand for a certain specialty or occupation is outpacing the supply of that skillset, prices for that skillset go up... Meaning the more difficult the skillset, the more value it will gain. Flipping burgers is not a rare skillset. Being a topflight surgical nurse is.

people say "women are not paid less, they just pick empathy careers." ok.!!! but who decided nursing and teaching are worth less? like we will pay a sales guy 150k to move numbers around, but pay a nurse pennies to literally keep people alive, or give a teacher crumbs and wonder why future generations are failing every test. it is not that empathy based work is less valuable it is that we’ve normalized underpaying it because it’s "women’s work."

@RossSchumann @_6signxxx CRNA’s require a nursing degree followed by years of experience (in critical care settings—you know, the competitive positions) before one can apply for the (highly competitive) doctorate they must then complete (DNP or DNAP). You’re talking <1.5% of nurses. Most nurses are here:

@observinghumanz @EUhobgoblin @CoffeeWaffen @MaxRadniecki @besttrousers Defining “welfare” is the absolute most basic (and required) followup question imaginable to that statistic. It would’ve, by necessity, been deeply explored in the study. Defining terms and methodology is 90% of the work. Pulling out that stat requires you explain what it means.

"61% of illegal households receive some form of welfare" This simple statistic is useful information on its face. I do not need to know anything deeper than this to glean something important from it. You want this to not be true for political reasons. You want to complicate it with muddy waters if you can. You have no integrity. We are very tired of you clowns.
