Boda-boda riders and landlords are playing an increasingly important role in community safety. After participating in awareness activities, many riders report choosing non-violence during tense moments, rejecting manipulation for violent acts and working closely with local security structures to report suspicious activities. As we celebrate the International Women’s Day, in partnership with @180GradWende, we congratulate the female beneficiaries who successfully completed vocational skills training under the CHANCE project and have graduated today. The ceremony brought together participants who have spent the past months building practical livelihood skills to strengthen their economic independence and resilience. Many of today’s graduates are women whose commitment and persistence reflect the spirit of women taking concrete steps toward shaping their own futures. Congratulations to all the CHANCE project graduates. #InternationalWomensDay2026

@Evelyn_Nakaayi Surely, Arteta doesn't know how to use a big squad. Zubimendi and Timber need to be rested.

Why isn’t Norgaard getting play time??? Benching Eze and wanting to accommodate both Saka and Madueke wasn’t an appropriate move. Arteta’s pride gonna see him out of this club the moment he fumbles this one.

Finger pointing at opposition brilliance from outside the box or individual errors is completely missing the point. Mikel Arteta is currently failing to give Arsenal the best possible chance to win the league. He is stumbling before the finish line. Must improve to win titles.

Peace and security. Perhaps it is time to give some definitions of what these two words mean. For people who are at war, peace means the ending of that war, the end of death, bleeding, destruction of life, property, and resources. What can be the meaning for people who are not at war? Think about it carefully. Peace, to me, means that people can meet freely, build on common causes, unite in associations, clubs, and political parties. They can walk the streets without being harassed, accosted by hawkers, petty thieves, and beggars. They can go to work and perform well without being intimidated and bullied. Kids can go to school and enjoy the safety of the school environment, without teachers-predators and bullies. Everyone can retire to their homes without listening to the noise from churches, bars, and discos beyond 10 pm at night. Everyone can do their job, have enough rest, and be productive, just, and orderly. That, to me, is the meaning of peace. Security has a similar meaning but is expressed differently. When you see a policeman, you are sure you will have a conversation without any monetary exchange. The police serves to guide you, correct you, and protect you. When you are under attack, it's the police that comes to your rescue, together with your security-conscious community. Where there is security, there is no need for tall perimeter walls and burglarproofing. No need for armed guards. Security means the society looks after everyone's safety, be it at home, at work, in traffic, or in schools. Police take care of incidents and work with the people, for the benefit of the people. The army takes care of the potential risks from the outside; however, in the absence of such risks, the army undertakes projects for the betterment of society: building roads, reinforcing river banks, river and lake cleanups, community outreaches, skilling and education of the underprivileged, training of cadets and the youth. Where there is true peace and security, people are one with the army and the police. They are not afraid of each other. There is mutual respect and dignity in everyone. Without prejudice. Add your thoughts. The image is from a village in Denmark. Credit to adventurousmiriam.com/small-towns-in…

@kasujja @mkainerugaba @TimKalyegira @TonyNatif Just get the job done. Tim will always whine. Tim’s sister ably serves the Judiciary but he doesn’t chastise her for serving the ‘ monarchy’. I have assured him that I have no interest to serve in any other govt after M7 unless it is MK. Tim feeds on conspiracies.

Our Chance Project, in partnership with @180GradWende, is proud to celebrate 10 resilient young people who have transitioned from marginalized backgrounds into the professional workforce. Over the past 6 months, including young mothers & orphans, they overcame major socio-economic challenges to gain practical, market-ready skills. Trained in plumbing, car mechanics, hairdressing, bakery, and fashion, they successfully completed their national @UVTABOfficial assessments, a strong step toward economic independence and community growth.

@PerezMugisha @KagutaMuseveni I agree. But this is precisely why change can’t rely on electoral moments alone. When incumbency fuses with the state, power will reproduces itself regardless of performance for sure. Any alternative has to confront that reality, not wish it away!!

And this is where the incumbent NRM under @KagutaMuseveni still outperforms the opposition: not in popularity, but in organisation and infrastructure. Decades of grassroots machinery and clearer mobilisation chains mean its message is familiar, even to dissatisfied voters.
Sandrah Kahumuza@S_Kahumuza

This shows up in practice: low engagement with party manifestos, limited civic education, and uncertainty about rights, responsibilities, and red lines. Wanting change is common; defining it, debating it, and defending it collectively is where the gap still lies….

Some people do not appreciate growth in people they know personally. In their minds, there was a time they thought they were better than you smarter, ahead in school, or more capable. So when you start dreaming big, it shocks them. They ask, “How can you?” or “Why are you dreaming so big?” Not because your dream is impossible, but because they gave up on their own dreams. Instead of supporting you, they try to make your dream look small or foolish or unachievable. They compare you to others and remind you of who you used to be.

Thank you for joining us as we premiered the first Episode of #KambaaletheUndercoverAgent, the radio drama, which will run for 5 weeks on @1005kgr in Lukonzo. From the first episode, it was evident that extremist cells frequently hide in rental residences where owners do not undertake appropriate due diligence on their tenants. It is therefore key to stay vigilant by performing background checks. This is part of our Peace Beyond Borders project in collaboration with @PoleInstitute @KofiAnnanFdn and funded by the @EU_Commission
