@tomriordan Tom, well done! One positive thing to come out of the crisis is that we have shrunk distances whilst minimising carbon, as you have proved. It was good to have a senior person from our sector in the heart of Govt. It works best when local and central Govt work together.

One final thing about NHS Test & Trace. I did the job entirely from Yorkshire. You can fully participate at the heart of Whitehall with Ministers and senior officials, work daily with entire national sectors and change Government policy from the North. It’s the future.

@NYCC_Leader It’s to reflect how the town has grown and become the ‘jewel’ in the North Yorkshire Crown. It would be fantastic for the town and the county in general for the Queen to grant this for Harrogate. Our MP Andrew Jones is MP for Harrogate & Knareborough. Both towns are deserving.

@BernardHiggin12 If I remember it was when he was Mayor, last year or year before? I think it was after the Queen gave the title to Wootton Bassett for roadside tribute to fallen on return from Afghanistan. I’m sure he would help you understand his submission. Is it for lots or something special?

@NYCC_Leader Thanks for your reply Carl. When was Cllr Brown’s Proposal? I was not aware. Queen Victoria endorsed Royal Leamington Spa. That was over 150 years ago. There are many reasons to support the Royal Harrogate Spa Proposal apart from the rich history and heritage of our town. Eg

@Bewildered_Dad Let me guess. Turntable in the Main Hall of the National Railway Museum in York. Impressive amount of rolling stock being manoeuvred. When it’s all over come and visit the many heritage railways we have in Yorkshire, especially one I know well in Leeming Bar @WensleydaleRail .

This extra £1.6 billion takes the total given to councils to help their communities through this crisis to over £3.2 billion, an unprecedented level of additional financial support in recent times.
