ok im just gonna say it.
@aiDotEngineer singapore is easily the best ai conference ive ever been to and also the best one in its series
i say this mainly because it aligns with what i value in a conference:
- single track
- very “family style”: i randomly became an impromptu mc to help out for example
- it’s run by a community that is very close knit and the organizers actually know and love each other and it’s very visible
- they sponsor students/nextgen
they really do a great job of creating a legitimate community environment where learning can happen while still being for-profit and delivering value on all fronts: to attendees and to sponsors alike. they also have curated the talks quite well.
genuinely, my utmost respect and appreciation to @agrimsingh, @SherryYanJiang, @adlinzainal, @ivanleomk, @unprofeshme, kaspar and all involved in the team and in the project. hats off!!
it especially special that @agrimsingh grew up in this community and has been an active part of it for so long, being deeply integrated into its lifeblood. this is i think also why it’s so intimate and friendly while also delivering intense value.
ultimately what i value in conferences is mood/atmosphere and that here was “we’re a community who love what we do and everyone in it”. very much “we are builders” and “you can just do things”. so many big swings. this is the also the opposite of conferences i dont resonate with that are large multitrack expos with 25000 attendees and 13 concurrent tracks where its overstructured, overproduced, overmanaged, oversold to sponsors, and overcapitalized where it feels a bit like people/communities aren’t the focus anymore but instead it’s something else. profit, clout, etc.
being able to be a part of the first ever aie singapore is truly one for the history books and one i shall never forget.
v thankful to all for the experience.

It’s been a wild ride covering AIE and #RoadToAIE with @unprofeshme
started by randomly offering to help with videos/media.
a few weeks later and we’re helping host a 1,000+ person AI conference, meeting some of the smartest people in tech, and realizing this is about way more than just creating FOMO online.
couldn’t have done this without the trust that the team at @65labslah placed in me to help put the face of @aiDotEngineer Singapore out there online❤️
@unprofeshme best fellow media IC anyone could’ve asked for
