Accordingly, I am rescinding the finding against xxxxx and withdrawing the warning that was issued to him. It has been removed from his record. But the drive to "push boundaries", and competition for academics to pitch eye-catching theories has led to more & more outlandish schools of thought.

This new academic paper claims that @jk_rowling has essentially become Voldemort via her “celebrified transphobia,” which is apparently the authors’ term for Rowling publicly acknowledging basic biology. It argues that the “Wizarding World should be considered a cultural field” whose defining principle is “trans/queer inclusivity,” and says Rowling’s views have “significantly depleted her once-elite status.” It says Harry Potter has been read as “resisting binary gendering” and presenting gender as “varied, easily shifting, exploratory, and ‘slippery,’” with the Wizarding World offering trans and queer fans “identification and community” and “a ‘place of belonging.’” So Rowling became the moral equivalent of her own villain because some readers projected gender ideology onto the books, then felt shocked when the author turned out to believe sex is real. And in case the paper was not absurd enough already, its conclusion declares: “You’re a muggle, Joanne.”

This is not an academic paper; it’s social science garbage from a department of media and communications. Disputed terms like ‘trans’, ‘transphobic’, ‘nonbinary’, ‘gender critical’ et al. are just put out there without definition or citation. This is why social science departments are bringing universities into disrepute. They’re filled with ideologue cretins who have no idea what an academic hypothesis or paper looks like.

This paper exists by virtue of a long chain of cascading moral and epistemic failures. The institution that regards and treats it as a worthy contribution to the expansion of human knowledge should simply be defunded in full.

This article summarises my own developing relationship with "decolonisation" & the Left's bizarre, atrocity-excusing approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The repugnant responses to October 7th, & the continued failure to acknowledge it as a pivotal moment, speaks volumes.

Some of the data in this article is staggering. ✅ More British Jews have moved to Israel in the past 12 months than in any other year since the turn of this century. ❌ Antisemitism is pushing about one in five British Jews to think about leaving. ❌ Jews experienced more than eight times as many hate-crime incidents per head of population as Muslims. But as you read this article you realize how the BBC have contributed to Jews wanting to leave the UK. ❌ There is no debate about what “Globalize the Intifada means”. An Intifada is violent death for Jews, on buses, in cafes and it targets civilians. The BBC both sides this. ❌ The BBC then promote Hamas numbers on the death toll in Gaza. They don’t include combatants. They don’t even mention that the Gaza Health Ministry doesn’t detail combatants. Heck they don’t even say that Yahya Sinwar is one of the “people” they are lamenting. They don’t even attempt to explain how Hamas lost 25k fighters in a war they started with a massacre invasion. And it’s been like this for nearly decades now. The BBC have done as much as any institution in the UK to make Jews less safe.

Suggesting a positive political endgame for Palestinians isn't hard to do. I've done it. Many others have too. And these endgame suggestions would be fantastic tools in the hands of anyone looking to impose specific demands on Israel, or on Abbas or Hamas, or to offer a better future for Palestinians of the sort that might peel some away from Hamas. Palestinians have shown repeatedly that they have the tools to shape Israeli politics. But they are told by ideologues foreign and domestic that they must never use these powers, because doing so would commit the unforgivable sin of actually engaging and acknowledging the dastardly Jews. Sorry, Israelis. So no one is ever interested in endgames. The suggestions always land with a thud. The activists dismiss them out of hand as distractions from the main task. Because the main task, the purpose of the whole rabid, unprecedented campaign, unseen in scale, duration or intensity in any conflict or country or even atrocity in generations, is not to find any solution for Palestinians. The purpose is to project all Western criminality and self-abnegation and all the anxieties of this moment of social disarray onto the familiar old scapegoat and then, as in the days of old, destroy that scapegoat. It's a civilization-spanning purification ritual couched, like all such rituals in the history of Christendom and the West, as a call to righteousness and truth. And the bulk of the costs of all this blind hatred masquerading as righteousness isn't paid by Israelis or Jews, though they are paying steep costs that will only grow steeper, because this hatred is never satisfied. No, they're paid by Palestinians. They, not we, are trapped in this obsessive radicalization against Israel. They, not we, are herded by comfortable foreigners living out anti-imperialist noble-savage fantasies into ever more rounds of zero-sum war. There *are* political endgames, and they're worth fighting for. But they require a pro-Palestinian campaign that's more than just an updated version of the anti-Jewish purges of old.

Confused as to why politicians say, on another attempted arson attack on a Jewish building, “these terrorists are trying to divide us - and will not succeed etc etc.” Are they? I’d say that diviseness is not the object. I’d say it’s trying to kill Jews.

Sad to have missed this peaceful, dignified counter demonstration due to being out of the country, but I am so immensely proud of the Irish Jewish community for standing up against the antisemitic bullies who are continuing to descend onto Herzog Park in ongoing attempts to erase Irish Jewish history and intimidate the Irish Jewish community. This morning, against the express wishes of the local community (and despite poll results that illustrate that the majority of Irish people do not support the proposed rename), there was another football match at Herzog Park as part of the renaming campaign. These bullies were outnumbered by the Jewish community and allies who stood up to say: enough. Irish jewish history is woven into the fabric of Irish society. These beautiful threads will never be unravelled despite the obsessive attempts to do so by extremist councillors and amateur sportspeople. The Irish Jewish community is going nowhere. Well done to all!
