The moment of one of today’s Russian strikes on Kyiv. I can see that fewer and fewer people are reading news from Ukraine. I understand that on a Sunday morning, people don’t want to read about war. They want to sleep a little longer, drink good coffee, and sit in the sun. I understand that. The algorithms on X limit content about war, destruction, and suffering. You have to make an effort to even see this information. All of this is understandable on a human level. But unfortunately, if you remove Putin and the war from your information feed, they do not disappear from reality. Putin is a sadist and a maniac. He is a threat to all of humanity. There needs to be active resistance. News from Ukraine needs to be shared. People need to keep their focus. Despite a sleepless night, I’m still here. And I’m grateful to everyone who continues to stand with us. One day, we’ll drink morning coffee together in a beautiful, peaceful Kyiv.

55 Russian missiles and 549 drones were intercepted or suppressed over Ukraine overnight. In addition, 19 Russian missiles likely failed to reach their targets, Ukraine’s Air Force added, noting that the information is still being clarified. According to preliminary data, impacts from 16 missiles and 51 drones were recorded across 54 locations, while falling debris was reported at 23 locations. 📹 Kyiv this morning

I have been sickened all day by the news of three boys who lured two schoolgirls, raped them, and filmed it on their phones while they laughed and egged each other on. When they finally stood before a judge this week, they were handed “rehabilitation orders” and walked out without serving a single day behind bars. Not in prison, not in custody or a young offender institution. The judge said, “None of you need to go to prison”. What message does that send to rapists? The crime could hardly be graver, yet the punishment was no punishment at all. It’s the collapse of consequences and the rot runs right through the justice system. And this is only going to get worse because Labour are choosing to go soft on criminals: ❌ They have abolished short prison sentences. ❌ They have let tens of thousands of criminals out early. ❌ And now they want to raise the age of criminal responsibility, so that even MORE young offenders escape any consequence at all. My position is common sense👇 PRISON WORKS. ✅It punishes those who do wrong, it keeps dangerous people off our streets and away from our children. ✅It tells every victim that the law is on their side. A country that forgets this is a country where schoolgirls are raped and filmed for sport, and the boys who did it get to go home. Conservatives stand against it and our policies on sentencing and prison are the ones that will deliver a stronger country.

@Younadsamza @SayeedaWarsi Everything you've posted is opinion, not fact. In one of your videos, it says that Muslims make up 6% of the UK population. If there is no antisemitism problem, then how come 100% of the recent attacks have been carried out by Muslims?

Islamist extremism is very often linked to antisemitism — and we need to be honest about the facts. Around 94% of terrorist murders in the UK over the past 25 years were committed by Islamist extremists. About 75% of the counter-terrorism caseload is Islamist-related. Yet Prevent’s caseload is only around 10% Islamist. That mismatch is deeply concerning. It suggests resources are not being focused where the threat is greatest. We must take a clear-eyed, evidence-led approach — tackle Islamist extremism head on, and root out antisemitism wherever it appears.

Discussing Iran with Krishnan Guru-Murthy @krishgm - British journalist and lead presenter on @Channel4News - he states that some inside Iran say those who are upset with the regime are “a tiny minority” and genuinely asks “how do you know your side is in the majority?” Fact: the regime lies to the point of pathological habit and is currently flooding the airwaves and internet with what you could call ‘industrial strength propaganda’ designed directly and specifically to influence western public opinion. But the answer has always been very clear: in January a recorded 14 million protestors took to the streets, 40,000+ of them murdered by the IRGC and regime backed militias brought in from Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s how we know. The regime - and anyone with a pulse - knows the overwhelming majority wants them gone and there’s no coming back from these heinous crimes against humanity. Not forgetting the protests around the world on Feb 14 including 250,000 in Munich and 500,000 in Toronto alone. Anyone parroting the very concept that support for the regime is the majority in Iran - especially during a 62 day enforced internet blackout - is either a regime supporter, paid by the regime, or simply out of their minds.

Nice article that I missed when it came out. One writer, Luke Buckmaster’s opinion, but, he does give some solid reasoning. As I get older, I am humbled that someone would even think to write an article like this. Russell Crowe’s 20 best roles – sorted! theguardian.com/film/2025/dec/…

@PawelTomczyk3 there doesn't *seem* to be an obvious Brexit dislocation in the data - which doesn't exclude subtle effects (positive or negative) but given rejoining would take years and may not even be possible, it doesn't seem like a fruitful line of enquiry.

UK tax is going to be the highest since 1945. But public spending won't increase; in fact most of us will experience a decline in public services. Here's why - in a thread that I'd love to be completely wrong.

Yesterday I was at Heaton Park Synagogue, remembering Jews murdered by a terrorist. Today, Jews are stabbed on a London street. More terrorism. This does not come out of nowhere. It follows months of poison that downplays antisemitism, treats Jewish fear as suspect and turns public space into a place where that hostility feels normal. We’re told “antisemitism has no place in our society.” Then act like it.

Jewish people in our country are under constant attack. This is no longer a growing pattern. There is an epidemic of violence against Jewish people. It is now a national emergency and needs to be treated as such by the Government and public authorities.

I'm frankly astonished by today's crass briefings calling for @ShabanaMahmood to be sacked as Home Secretary. She's one of the most effective and impressive cabinet ministers and her efforts to control immigration are essential to Labour winning back the trust of voters in constituencies like North Durham.

Can’t quite believe the ZX Spectrum turns 44 today! 🙏 I’m even less willing to acknowledge I’m more than a decade older than it! On 23 April 1982, Sir Clive Sinclair unveiled a rubber-keyed, rainbow-striped 8-bit computer at the Churchill Hotel in London. It cost £125. It sold over five million units. It contributed significantly to the launch of the British IT industry. Around twenty thousand+ games were made for it including of course Jet Set Willy, Atic Atac and my personal fave - The Way of the Exploding Fist 🤜 💥 In the middle of an AI arms race, it’s worth remembering how simple the computing experience used to be. What was your first ZX Spectrum game?🕹️

Every single time a society has turned on its Jews bad things have followed. The Jews have always been the canary in the coalmine. The explosion and normalisation of Jew hate we’re now seeing isn’t just a problem for the very small number of British Jews, this is a problem for all of us. As a society, we have a choice to reject this or face dark times ahead.

An ultra Orthodox man doing his job as a building inspector was working in Slough when he was physically attacked by a total stranger screaming ‘baby killer’ and ‘dirty mother f*cking Jew’ at him. A friend of his has sent me this video telling me the man is now ‘afraid to leave his area, he is terrified for his life.’ As the most visibly obvious Jews, the community has extra security where they live but are increasingly frightened to leave their neighbourhood. ‘It is devastating that Jewish people can’t go anywhere without a high risk of being attacked,’ I was told. 🚔 @ThamesVP are investigating and seeking witnesses to the attack on Monday afternoon in Slough. The Indian tanker captain in the Strait of Hormuz explodes in anger over the radio, confronting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats: “You gave me clearance to pass! My name is listed as number 2 in your papers! Now you’re firing on me?! Give me a chance to turn around and go back!” This is the reality in the Strait of Hormuz today. The Iranians… as naturally as they breathe… they lie… they betray… and they stab you in the back.

The bystander at the end 😭💀 A massive Met Police operation took place in Kilburn yesterday, completely clearing the streets of uninsured mopeds, illegal electric scooters, and modified e-bikes. They literally brought a massive flatbed truck to tow them all away! 🚨🛵 While a lot of Londoners are sick of e-bikes flying down the pavements, others think the police should be focusing their resources on bigger crimes. Do you agree with this crackdown, or should they be focusing elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts below!

For the Trump administration to understand: The Strait of Hormuz is NOT OPEN. The UAE does not and will NEVER accept the Islamic regime in Iran imposing CONDITIONS on access. The UAE is not Britain or the EU. It does not accept any terrorist actor restricting freedom of navigation. As for Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia negotiating to keep the regime afloat, understand this: no state has a legitimate right to decide who may pass and under what terms. That is international law, not a bargaining chip. Shame on United Kingdom, NATO, European Union, and anyone who tolerates this regime’s terrorism and piracy.
