BOMBSHELL. During his testimony opposing the millionaires tax, @bkheywood says progressive billionaire @NickHanauer is domiciled out of Washington state to AVOID THE TAXES HE HELPED TO PASS. Nick, is this true?

After 15 years covering the Washington State Legislature, I was just denied a press pass. Why? Because I have taken the public position that girls should not be forced to compete against boys. I am one of the longest-serving political reporters in the state. I have never acted unprofessionally at the statehouse. I ask serious, well-informed questions and provide coverage for many Washingtonians who feel unrepresented in mainstream news coverage. To make matters worse, legacy media representatives with the Capitol Correspondents Association conspired with Democrats in the House to weaponize an outdated policy to keep me (and other new media professionals) out. Let me be clear: Legacy news reporters took the side of politicians over the public. Rather than help expand political coverage for all by welcoming independent media into the fold, they pushed for LESS press freedom, not more. They played gatekeeper. Not only to help their struggling outlets survive by keeping out the competition, but to help the Democratic Party in power keep out critical voices. Yes, independent media in Washington state is overwhelmingly conservative. There is a reason for that. There is a reason more reporters are leaving legacy newsrooms to do what I did in 2021. Too many local newsrooms cover stories from a progressive worldview. They increasingly shut out 40% of the state and parrot the views of the party in power. Offering my informed opinion on policies should not preclude me, or others, from having access to the spaces we need to be in to do our jobs for the citizens who depend on us. To shut us out is to shut them out. I have advocated for a simple policy to govern press passes in Olympia – one based on decorum. If reporters can abide by reasonable decorum rules, they should be allowed a press pass. Podcasters. Bloggers. Columnists. YouTubers. Everyone. I invite my friends (and enemies) in legacy news to show a united front and stand up for press freedom, as I have done consistently for years – even when it meant criticizing my own side. If the goal is to hold elected leaders accountable, expanding old rules to welcome in more voices and more perspectives is the answer. If the goal is to shut out anyone who might challenge Democratic leaders, then I guess the policy should stay the same.

Washington State Rep says Democrats introduced Bill HB 2489 and it will be voted on this week Democrats will let the homeless setup tent encampments on kids soccer fields and city parks and make it ILLEGAL for the city to remove them I can’t believe this is real… “There's a bill in the housing committee that will be voted on this week. That will allow homeless encampments in your communities. Think about your city soccer fields, city parks, and city officials would not be able to move those encampments.”

Your state legislature hates you Washington. They now don't want to hear from you anymore. SB 5973 will gut the initiative process.
WA Senate Republicans@WashingtonSRC

Do you like having Citizen Initiatives? We need your help again. We urge you to Sign-in CON against SB 5973, the Initiative Killer Bill 2.0. It's another anti-Democracy bill, which severely undermines the initiative process and would silence millions of WA voters. Sign-in CON on SB 5973: ow.ly/wt9Q50XZ5zJ SB 5973 is being heard in the State Government, Tribal Affairs & Elections Committee this coming Tuesday at 1:30pm. Last year, there was significant bi-partisan opposition to the Initiative Killer Bill 1.0 (SB 5382). WA Secretary of States Steve Hobbs (D) and Sam Reed (R) stood together against it too. Our initiative process has served Washington State well for over 100 years. #UnaccountableWA #waleg

🚨BILL ALERT + CALL TO ACTION Washington is quietly moving to codify a cradle-to-25 behavioral health system into law. HB 2429 doesn’t just fund programs, it builds permanent governance that follows children from prenatal development through young adulthood, with schools as a key access point. Read the breakdown. See how this connects to other bills. …servativeladiesofamerica.substack.com/p/codifying-a-… 30-Second CALL TO ACTION: Register your CON position before the committee hearing on January 20th. Tomorrow is Halloween but the real nightmare begins November 1st when healthcare open enrollment begins. My wife and I are business owners who pay for our own healthcare but we will be making a big change this year. If you’re a freelancer, business owner or someone who pays for their own health insurance read on: Our premiums, deductibles and maximum out-of-pocket limits have increased +20% per year and will likely be higher in 2026. For a family of five we pay $20k+ per year in premiums with a deductible and an out-of-pocket max almost as high. I have been following @JoinCrowdHealth, a crowd sharing plan, for a few years but wasn’t sure if their model would work for us. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with nor do I represent CrowdHealth in any capacity. Healthshare plans like CrowdHealth can be hard to compare apples-to-apples against traditional insurance, so I built a simple spreadsheet tool that helped me analyze the differences between: • Monthly premiums vs. contributions • Deductibles vs. shared amounts • Coverage limits and exclusions • Annual out-of-pocket costs based on specific scenarios By my analysis we should be able to cut our healthcare expenses 30% to 50% by joining CrowdHealth. If you’re not familiar with crowd sharing plans, they’ve been around for a long time. The basics for CrowdHealth’s model: • You pay monthly subscription + share amount instead of a premium • You pay for the first $500 of any procedure • Pre-existing conditions are excluded for 2 years but capped after • They help you negotiate potentially significant cash pay discounts My analysis gave us clarity in analyzing the differences and confidence in deciding to make the switch. Every situation is unique, but I wanted to create a tool that makes a confusing topic a little clearer. 👉 Comment “Health” and I’ll send you the spreadsheet that includes a short walkthrough video.

We must REVOLT against the mandatory fortification of our bread, flour and cereals. You think of iron as a benign nutrient but it is an evil oxidiser. When added to the food supply, it accumulates in tissues, catalyses free radical reactions and accelerates ageing, cancer, heart disease and neurodegeneration. Evil iron is unique among “nutrients” in being inherently toxic once stored. Unlike nutrients like calcium or magnesium, the body has no safe way to excrete excess. Fortification policies, meant to solve anemia in the short term, have instead produced a long term public health disaster: chronic inflammation, fibrosis, liver disease and hormonal disruption. Every slice of iron fortified bread (which is virtually all of them in countries like the UK or the US) is an oxidative stress event: pushing our metabolism toward literal degeneration. This is an assault on the biological integrity of entire populations. Ending mandatory iron fortification is one of the simplest, most urgent steps we could take toward real public health. In the meantime, if you’re in the UK or US, your best bet is to stop eating bread. Instead, get European unenriched flour and make your own.

Banning the mandatory iron fortification of grain would probably prevent so many cancers and degenerative health issues, it's crazy. It's a huge public health crisis. Adding a huge oxidative stressor to the entire British population's diet through bread and wheat.

On the most difficult day, I woke to the news that my only son was killed in Afghanistan. He was due home in just 2 weeks. I already had his birthday present, planned to go to a baseball game like old times, cook his favorite foods, joke and tease and make up for lost time, but in the blink of an eye, we lost him. The denial and shock were crippling. My first rational thought was, “Who will remember him when I’m gone”? He was just 21 with no children, and the notion that he might be forgotten brought an anxiety that I can’t articulate. Our family was grief-stricken and we learned in one moment what Memorial Day is truly about. Jake was a Christian, a comedian, an athlete, a huge dog lover, an artist and the best son and friend. I genuinely hope you all enjoy your long weekend, and if you don’t have a hero to remember, please remember mine. This is all we can do for him now. If prompted to do so, please share him with the world. It would be a gift. PFC Jacob H Wykstra KIA May 28, 2014 Maruf, Afghanistan He is forever loved and missed ♥️🇺🇸

The @MayorofSeattle owes Christians in WA State an apology for his bigoted remarks after folks who were holding a peaceful worship event at Cal Anderson Park were violently assaulted for the high crime of expressing their deeply held religious beliefs in the form of a permitted worship event on city property. 23 antifa thugs were arrested. Cops were hospitalized. Church people were assaulted. And the @MayorofSeattle has the audacity to blame Christians for the violence. The City of Seattle is plagued by chronically inept political leadership and Mayor Harrell is no exception. Bruce Harrell’s administration is an embarrassment to the Emerald City. The Mayor’s niece (and former Deputy Mayor) publicly accused the Mayor of sexism and cultivating a toxic office culture in September of this year. Since Bruce took office, homicide is up 26% and rape is up 12%. Motor vehicle theft is up 38%. Drug deaths are up 89%. Bruce Harrell himself was arrested on weapons and assault charges prior to running for public office. He pulled a gun on a woman who was 8 months pregnant because he was upset she took his parking spot. The Mayor is on his third police chief since taking office. No one wants to work for him. His own family can’t stand him. And antifa gets a free pass from him. I guess pulling guns on pregnant women isn’t enough for Mayor Harrell. He’s now got to blame Christians for a city that he has let go to hell.
