I’ve been married for five years, and my wife does most of the cooking and cleaning. I hardly do those things. Why? Because she cooks three types of meals on the weekend that last from Monday to Friday. She only does laundry on weekends. She only cleans on weekends. We also do our shopping only on weekends. I had to help create these routines for her because she kept complaining about the “mental load” crap. Women create a lot of this mental load for themselves and then complain that motherhood is hard. No, you made motherhood hard on yourselves. She doesn’t have to deep-clean the floor late at night. She can do it tomorrow. She doesn’t have to do laundry late at night either. Laundry can even be done on the weekend. She doesn’t have to wash the dishes immediately; they can wait until tomorrow.

But you were at the Lagos state ministry by 4pm filling a false petition, damm! My boy is not even officially British yet, I still have to give that to him in a few months, yet your family keeps trying to take advantage of him, first to emotionally blackmail me into giving in, then for your visa sake, and even now, wants to try and use him again, and again, and again! It’s okay for you to enjoy self-destruction, but dragging my boy to forcefully remain with you in Lagos and forfeit his life in the Uk and dual citizenship is a deep level of reckless wickedness for a child you claim to love, yet steady putting in harms way.

Nobody prepared me for how low my libido got after childbirth. Let us clarify something here, This is for the sake of public education. 1. Paying 119k consultation fee to see a gynaecologist is *not* ridiculous. This is a very fair charge to see a specialist in a private clinic setting. 2. It takes about 15years of medial school and postgraduate education to become a gynaecologist. You can’t see a specialist and pay peanuts. It costs time, money and a lot of work to become a gynaecologist. 3. Many of you gladly pay 500k for wig, you have no problems with 150k for bridal makeup that nobody notices, which will wash away in 3hours and you can even casually pay 50k to tie gele at wedding but you draw the line at paying less than 120k to see a gynaecologist for your healthcare. If you can spend premium money on ephemeral things like wig and makeup, pls kindly prioritise your health, dear Nigerians. 4. The only way you can see a specialist and pay cheap or pay nothing is if the service is subsidised or funded by the government or by NGOs. This is why government hospitals are cheaper, or sometimes free, compared to private hospitals. You may pay nothing as an end user but someone else is actually covering the true costs of that service. 5. This takes me to my final point: Marie Stopes in Nigeria is a non-profit NGO that is heavily funded by donor grants and international organisations who subsidise the actual costs to make it cheap for you the end user. It is a bad argument to compare Marie Stopes (funded by NGO money) to a private clinic gynaecologist that relies solely on being run by patient’s fees. The actual cost in Marie Stopes will be far higher if not for the donations of good people and organisations who ensure the doctors are well paid and you won’t need to pay high for treatments or consultation. I know life is tough in Nigeria and people find accessing good healthcare very expensive for the average person, however this is not the gynaecologists fault. This is the governments fault who have impoverished us, made us poor, failed to maintain the public hospitals and who have made people’s earnings so little that they can’t afford healthcare. I hope this explanation is helpful.

@tiphe_j I remove the one from my gen and I didn’t replace it back, I’ve been using my gen directly since then and I think I like the work of the gen now without the AVR.

I received a call this morning that a childhood friend of mine is gone. He impregnated a lady. She gave birth and got stuck in the hospital. Bills unpaid. Pressure from the lady. Pressure from her mother. He reached out to me a few weeks ago. I sent him some money. His workmates said he had been thinking too much lately. He mentioned to them he was hypertensive. The last call he took was from the lady. After he dropped that call he fainted where he sat. Before they could get him to a hospital he was gone. This morning the lady was discharged. The family sorted the hospital bill immediately. The same bill they could not sort when he was alive. Men please take care of yourselves. Even if na to run from the situation temporarily, run.
