POLICE STILL HUNTING FOR NO. 55915 PC BAHATI CHARLES On December 23, 2024, one of our officers, No. 55915 PC Bahati Charles, shot and fatally wounded Ssemwaka Julius, a driver of vehicle registration number UAX 460C, along Sezibwa road. Following the incident, PC Bahati fled the scene with his weapon and is currently on the run. A search operation is underway to locate him. The photo of the suspect is hereunder:

. @Lukowoyesigyire "The Police at Kira Division is investigating an incident of aggravated torture that occurred on the night of 27th December 2024, at around 0100 hours, in Kikoko Zone, Namataba Cell, Kirinya Ward, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. The victim, a 4-year-old girl identified as Tumwekwase Claire, was allegedly tortured by the suspect, Tumuhirwe Precious, a 35-year-old female. The suspect, employed as a housemaid, fled the scene following the incident but has since been apprehended in Kabale District and is currently detained at Kabale Central Police Station. Arrangements are underway to transport her to Kira Division in Kira Municipality . The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Nsambya Hospital. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim’s father, Mr. Mwesigwa Michael, a 35-year-old resident of Kikonko-Kirinya, has been the primary caregiver for his children following a separation with the children's mother two years ago. The suspect, who had been employed as a housemaid for four years, was brought in through a recommendation from mutual acquaintances in Kabale District. Investigations are ongoing , further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway. The Uganda Police Force condemns all forms of violence, particularly against children, and remains committed to ensuring justice is served. We urge the public to report any suspected cases of abuse to the nearest police station.

Busoga Sub-region and the whole of Uganda are poorer today with the demise of respected elder, scholar, politician and former Kagoma North Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Frank Nabwiso. A dignified and principled man, he was a personal friend and a great influence on many, and whose zeal to serve never waned with age. I hosted both Dr. Nabwiso and the wife last month at my Buwekula home. We held discussions on a book he authored about Bishop Bamwoze and he wanted H.E Gen (Rtd) @KagutaMuseveni to grace its launch. The Late didn't look sick at all, was in jovial spirits and with no sign of senility. I couldn't have imagined that he was about to leave us but that's God's decision. Condolences to the Nabwiso family, Busoga and Ugandans at large. We commit Hon. Dr. Nabwiso's soul to eternal rest in the Lord's hands! FK

Uganda Police Force condemns the method of arrest depicted in this video. It contradicts our professional standards. The officers involved in the incident are: 1.ASP Andrew Betunga (in uniform) 2.Detective Constable Darious Aharizira 3.Detective Constable Hope Nsasirwe and, 4.Detective Constable Loyce Kiboneka These officers were executing an arrest of the female seen dragged in the mud. She is resident from Lubiri cell in Mbarara City. All the four have since been arrested and are currently detained in Mbarara. Further updates regarding the progress of our disciplinary action will be provided later.
