According to Barak Ravid of Axios, several U.S. naval vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz without coordinating with Iran. According to reports, the USS Micheal Murphy (DDG-112) was one of the vessels to transit. Iranian media claims that the vessels turned back despite Axios’ report.

NEWS: The U.S. has NOT agreed to release any Iranian frozen assets, a senior U.S. official told CBS News.  A Reuters report that cited a senior Iranian source was not accurate.  Meetings with Iran have not started yet, so no agreements have been discussed at all.  Vice President Vance did hold a bilateral meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.  The American delegation included Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The Pakistani delegation included Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, and Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister.

Im not sure of the tactic take and hold but Gen. Keane has no doubt our boot is on their neck...There has to be a regime tipping point.

I hope most people realize that there’s no cease-fire that will actually hold. This is just a tactical pause. The United States is repositioning, resupplying, and sending more troops to the area. I don’t believe there will ever be a peace deal with the current radicals “in charge” of Iran. I think this is a delay tactic on both sides, but one that benefits the United States more than Iran.🇺🇸

I'm actually ok with it for now because it allows us to get assets to the region and take stock of who's alive and dead on their side. We'd probably have to distract the Iranians with a bigger threat(i vote arclight raids) to get the LHAs into the gulf and up to Kharg but holding Kharg probably wouldnt be too bad.
