Who controls the internet? Pakistan is currently a good example of the fact that this job should not be handed over to an authority alone. The voices calling for such institutions are also growing louder in the EU. In 🇵🇰, websites like Wikipedia were blocked by such an authority.

Taking a deeper look at ASN traffic curves for the partial restoration earlier today (beginning 06:24 UTC/9:54am local). #DigitalBlackoutIran #IranianRevolution2026 They all look very jagged, like maybe a new traffic filtering system has been installed and can't keep up.

Large Internet outage in Iran today. Distinct drops in traffic levels for the two largest traffic destinations (AS58224 and AS44244) at 07:29, 08:46, and 10:49 UTC. CEO of state operator TIC says the disruption was caused by the loss of a "European route."

These features I have really missed! Thx. Because communication to each participant is E2EE, I guess the performance is a bit lower, compared to zoom, teams, ... where the encryption ends on the platform and a single encrypted channel will be generated.
