The report in @NewIndianXpress dated 25.05.2026 regarding the recent TNPSC notification for the recruitment of Junior Photographers reflects how governance reforms can create an impact far beyond elections.
As the report points out, it was the DMK Government led by Thiru. @mkstalin that, during Dr. @ptrmadurai’s tenure as Finance & Human Resources Management Minister, brought these recruitments under the ambit of TNPSC — replacing discretion and recommendation with a transparent, merit-based process open to all.
This reform was enabled through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (Additional Functions) Act, 2022, which was introduced in the Assembly on 07.01.2022 and received the assent of the Governor on 31.01.2022.
Real reform is not just about politics. It is about changing systems that outlast governments.

DMKs track record speaks for itself. In 2006, DMK survived with 96 MLAs. It did not break any party. Between 2017-2021, in spite of having all chances, DMK did not play to the resort politics. Without considering that, just trying to convince yourself using imagination over DMK because you know what TVK did was unethical.
After 2011, what Jaya did is the same what TVK is doing now. DMK has not done horse-trading ever.
We will take high moral ground based on our party history and our leader's moral. So, STFU.

Assume DMK was in today's TVK position and TVK in the ADMK position, definitely DMK would have done the same with TVK Mlas. As no politician wants to take the risk of re-election! Yes, today, DMK and its supporters can take high moral ground! Also, going by the attack by media in these 15 days, who knows if DMK can even try falling the government by asking communist to withdraw the support. Anything is possible in politics. So, everything is fair in the love, war, and politics!

Asked senior officials in the CMO whether the recent officials appointments were made without the CM knowledge, they reportedly clarified that nothing happened without his approval. Sources say someone strongly argued that officers like him should be kept close and that he was the right choice for the post. Since the CM did not want to create major discomfort for anyone, the appointments were cleared accordingly.

Dear Tamil Nadu journalists, there is no rule in this world that says we should not criticize the newly elected government for the first six months. I keep seeing journalists repeating this nonsense everywhere, again and again.
It doesn’t matter if the government is new or old, just do your job. Don’t waste your time worrying about imaginary rules. Every time we see injustice and poor governance, it is our duty to talk about it, and staying silent is wrong. Becasue its people who are getting affected in the end.
And finally, if you still wish to protect the government for some reason, I would advise you to find a better excuse.

Sad to see this man who calls himself a journalist living with a selective amnesia. He only saw the pic with the CM but not the one with the Minister #Rajmohan . He is ignorant to the fact I am the State VP of @BJP4TamilNadu and also the President of television producers council, & in that capacity i met the Honorable CM today. His so-called selective honesty ( read as loyalty to one particular family ) does not allow him to also think about the very warm bond i share with the CM. Probably when you are part of a section of those who live in the world exchange of favours, you turn blind to the facts. And which book of rule says you shouldn't meet people? I am sure you were the first one to go and meet the then CM in 2021. Did I see you asking the same question to the former CM when he met all the famous personalities during his term despite Tamilnadu going through the worst times of law and order? And we have always stood by the atrocities against every child, every girl, every woman and every human at every given point.
